Odd im not sure of its only cars that have had the matrix system or should be on all

As far as I'm aware it is only the SE L First edition out of the three available now that has the full functionality of the rear lights including the scrolling rear indicators. The SE and SE Technology only get the low functionality rear lights which don't extend across to the boot lid. I stand to be corrected though.

It's a shame as they don't look the same without it. I've ordered an SE Tech estate on lease which should come in a couple of weeks, would've loved the SE L but was too much for me at the moment.

SEL FE has rear lights that go across the boot lid, but not scrolling indicators - just normal small block of LED’s on the outer sections.

I have the SE L and does not seem to go all the way across, i know you dont get dynamic indicators as this is part of the matrix headlight system and i dont have this.

How strange, I thought the SE L got everything for the rear lights.

My mistake, just been outside and checked and the lights just function on the outside not on the boot lid.

How odd then, must only be the ones with matrix lights? Just looks very odd how it dont carry onto the boot ones, do you only get 1 rear reverse light too? Im guessing so as my old skoda did just thought they would of updated this as it dont seem very bright when reversing at night

same seems like some miss leading info on website had this problem with the auto boot opening from inside drivers door, website comes as standard, but it dont and dealer had no idea whats going on. Seems like pot luck

Just an update, the cars with the dealers as they believe the lights should run over to the boot, so they are investigating the issue (and other issues) but like they said if there not meant to light up why add them?? So hopefully ill have some answers in a few days, luckily they lent me a same spec octi FE (yes the lights on this one go over to the boot)

I’m not sure the “then why add them” question is really valid.  There looks to be other lights in the inner cluster (reverse/fog?).  Other Skoda models have similar dual cluster setups with different parts lighting up depending on what spec you have. As do other marques.

With all that said however, all evidence does point towards your particular vehicle not being to the expected specification.

Please let me know.

Here is a photo from my dealer's show room. As you can see even in the showroom the lights on the boot are not lighting up.

So Skoda won't care.

i get that however my dealers showroom (including the one i test drove) did, and my dealers must care as they have my car and are investigating and lent me another car that does have it, my only question is why do some light up and some dont?? And before people jump on, no the ones ive seen do not have matrix lights

This may or may not be relevant but I’m (nearly) sure that I instated the ‘extra’ lights on a previous car via VCDS so hopefully it’s just a bit of tweaking involved.

this is my thinking, some have it on and others dont, some get the auto boot opening and close from drivers doors and some get the rear blind things it seems to be its pot luck what you get, iam hoping this is the case it can just be turned on, even my dealer said they juat dont look right

Having looked at some of the reviews of the Mk 4 on YouTube from other countries it seems that the rear lights go all the way across even on the lowest spec cars (those with the 8.25" infotainment screen). Bizarre.

To get the LED strips that extend into the boot lid you need to ensure your Octavia has the "high functionality" rear LED lights.

These are only available as a factory cost option and are bundled-in with several different options packs.

1) Full Matrix LED headlights, rear LED lights (high func) and dynamic indicators...

2) Rear-view parking camera, Full Matrix LED headlights, rear LED lights (high func)...

3) Rear-view parking camera with rear LED lights (high func) and dynamic indicators...

As you can see the high functionality LED rear lights can be specced independent of vehicle model and also without the Matrix headlights.

You can have a lowly spec SE with the high functionality LED rear lights simply by speccing the reverse camera.

The specs for North Macedonia are likely to be different than those of the UK.

Presumably your Octavia does not have either the reverse camera or Full Matrix LED headlights?

True, but why not go all the way with the light bar. It doesn't make any sense.
