Rear lights

Featured Replies

Lots of manufacturers have rear light clusters continuing on to the boot lid. A bit of observation while driving will make you aware that very few of the boot lid clusters light up. About the time of the Mk4 launch VAG/Skoda put a block on VCDS OBD port access on certain actions, some of these have now been overcome by commercial entities. I had a 59 plate facelift with fog lights with two bulbs, on the brochure it showed an SEL with DRLs in fogs, had them switched on by dealer, didn't show on bill. This was an option at I think £100 for DRLs (just before they were mandatory). Reversing light on one side (drivers side) could be switched to two sides by changing to Scandinavian reverse lights if I remember correctly. My son has top of the range all leather all electric Alhambra and he had to activate folding mirrors on it.

If your taillights have condensation and some water, be sure to contact the dealership during the warranty period and leave a note at least that the problem started then. I didn't register it and now I'm dealing with it myself. There is water inside the inner taillight (full-LED) on the hatch with dynamic turn signals and a light is on in the dash that says the rear turn signal needs to be checked. Very annoying, because turn signal flashes very quickly when switching to this one side. Also, dynamic function is turnd out, flashes like normal turn signal.

As a positive surprise, it turned out that there are three holes inside the trim (on both sides) where you can access the light screws (the negative is that the screws don't come through these holes and the trim still has to be disassembled, at least from the corner). I'm now trying to get the water out of the light, I've removed the three screws inside the light as well, but my question is, can't you still open the housing or it's glued?

Octavia 4 HB inner rear tail light:
Didn't try to open it more, but dried it 24 hours  until all the moisture had evaporated. I identified a few places on the light where water could have gotten in, so I put DoneDeal silicon there. Fortunately, no more water got into the light after the tests.
Unfortunately, the dashboard still throws an error message to check the rear right turn signal. OBD showed error code B16D7F4 "intermittent", after several attempts to clear it, it gives the same code with the status "static".
The tail light actually works, as do all the other functions of the light, including the dynamic welcome effect. If you open the car doors, the dynamic turn signal function works, but if you use it while driving, it doesn't.
What would you recommend doing next? Or can't you get rid of the error code and the light needs to be replaced?

Hi. Does anybody noticed problem like this. The bugs in both rear tail lights. The same thing left and right!? I think that must be from first assembly. The car was not damaged and still 18 months under warranty.

My impresssion is that the lights are sealed and that notning can enter?

The thing is strange, but I am concidering to try activate the warranty.

Hello, I had the same problem with water condensation in both rear lights, so Škoda replaced it as a warranty repair
