Skoda Connect issue

Featured Replies

I just got my brand new Karoq with Bolero infotainment last month. Skoda Connect was working OK until yesterday when it suddenly stopped.

Globe on car screen is red, app doesn't update and when I press emergency call buttons in car, I get that feature is not available notification, while I have until next September on my package.

Anyone has similar issue?

Thanks

My Connect app has been very unreliable at loading on my android 11 phone since I first loaded it in Mid Sept to use with new Superb.

Today it  only loads sometimes and when it does it fails to load any useful info except for the trip log.

I have seen all the options working before so I know something must have changed.

I've removed and re-install the app but still no good.

Is there anyone at Skoda that i supposed to help with this stuff ??

Skoda Connect issues can be very frustrating.

The backend VW system has a habit of logging EVERYONE out from the VW Discovery Portal / Skoda Connect Portal.  I think that with e-call or Connect Care packages, VW/Skoda are generally going around and deactivating people's access if the system doesn't 'see' the car for a period of 60 days.  The e-call/Connect Care system also has a SIM that VW/Skoda could have disabled.

Try logging into your Skoda Connect.  Remove your car and then try and re-add it (either via Skoda Connect Portal or via the Skoda Connect App).  You can also try and reactivate the car by tethering the car to a WLAN hotspot - I do mine from my car.

The problem here - is going to be at the back-end - try logging into Skoda Connect web portal (not via the app) - and see what the status of the car is.  IMHO - the trip log has never really worked properly unless you car is online via a WLAN Hotspot tether and even then it is a bit hit/miss.

Skoda log every one out of the Skoda Connect portal - and because of GDPR - it doesn't remember your login details.  When you login, is this on the app?  The app is a WEB2.0 application, so if the iphone is setup to forget all login settings or you have blitzed your browsing history, then this will also cause you to have to login everytime.

It's the SKODA app.

@JakecThis sounds perfectly normal.  I generally have to log into the MySkoda app at least once a week to stop it kicking me out.  Its annoying.

I mentioned the logging out by the connect app to a VW software developer a couple of years back and he said it was “a security feature”  😤

Can’t understand why it can’t support Face ID properly or used saved passwords.

My initial issue resolved itself after 2 weeks. According to Skoda service in my country it was issue with their server but didn't specify if it affected locally or whole region.

From feedback from 2 other Skoda owners I know who have their cars a couple of years, this happens at least 3-4 times every year for a 2-3 days.

I don't mind that it affects the app and car data that much, I worry more about the fact that when skoda connect is down emergency call and service call are also unavailable.

Might be an idea to make your profile show which country that is, as we have no idea at the moment?
