felicia bonnet stuck urgent

Featured Replies

hi guys i got a 1.9 felicia diesel 6 year old, got a problem took it for mot and they couldnt open the bonnet. took it home, pulled the latch but nothing, the latch comes all the way back, dont know if cable is stretched, is there any way i can open this without breaking the grill in the front. any one with a ny suggestions will be great thanx louez

A trick i used on another car.

Wire coathanger fron underneath or through the grill to pull the release latch that is pulled on by the wire.

Sounds like the wire has snapped or broken off a connector. Can't see why it should be a problem to get it off. If your car doesn't have an underguard or you can get i t offeaily i'd go from underneath with a torch.

Don't know if that will work on a felicia but worth a shot.

  • 6 months later...

got similar prob with my felicia 1.3 lxi, i hav to get someone to push down on the bonnet(above the badge) while someone else pulls the lever. hope this helps.

if you unhook the release cable from the lever, then attach a pair of mole grips to the cable, then pull.. it might give you enough to get it opened

happened on my old 1.3. the blob on the end of the cable had pulled of. i just kept some plyers in the car to pull the cable.

had it with an estelle front :) as before pliers

The above sounds good..... if that don't work, maybe a can opener.... ok, not pratical, but a little humour makes problems seem a little less stressing :D
