Boot compartment

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a recess behind the wheel arch of my face-lift octavia estate (photo attached). Does any one know of something I could fit in there to make it more useful. Some kind of storage box with a door, maybe.

Thanks for replying, certainly something that would help. I'm hoping there's something that slots into the 2 plastic bits either side of the recess.

That’s what slots in there when there not in use

Unfortunately it wasn't there, bought the car 2nd hand. At least I know something exists.

It’s In two parts a rigid piece that fits the hole and a bendy piece with Velcro on the bottom to stick to the boot carpet

Ah brilliant, that makes sense, apologies for being slow on the uptake.

In the VRS (mine at least) it's just a solid plastic divide:IMG_20201010_155823.thumb.jpg.bbbab87f9d1c5ba59917f8f2a38ca3f5.jpg

Have a look at some Aldi boot bags or something similar. They come with lots of velcro which grips the carpet. Mine seem almost designed to fit in the recess and hold lots of junk.

Funny you should mention that, I've just picked up the small bag. It's slightly too large to fit in my recess (might soften and fit better over time), but it's velcro backed so is stuck to the side - £3.99!

I had a couple in the back of my cupboard which I had completely forgotten about 🤦‍♂️, fit both sides very well. Problem solved, pleased you mentioned it.

I carry a tyre pump, pressure gauge, 1l of oil, a portable John, a spare item of clothing, pack of biscuits, hand wipes et Al. Very handy.

My 2015 Excellence came with VBF but no sideboards. So I made some removable ones myself. Seems these were not available with the VBF option.
