2020 RS245 rattle / vibration noise

Featured Replies

Hi All,

New to the forum here, I've recently purchased a brand new RS245 2020, loving the car and its just ticked over 800km on the clock.

However, in the past 50km its developed a rather loud & annoying 'vibration' sound. Its between 1500 and 2000rpm under gentle acceleration. Its way more pronounced in sport mode than normal or eco mode. It sounds like its coming from the vents or dashboard.

Anyone had the same issue? There is NO vibration sound at idle or when you give it some more throttle.

Obviously this will be under warranty but just wanted to hear if anyone had a similar issue on such a brand new car which isn't passed 1000km?? Also in lockdown here in Melbourne so getting the car to the skoda dealer is a pain in the neck!

Cheers,

Ross

Chances are it will be the soundaktor (artificial engine noise) It can be disabled if you have vcds or obdeleven.

yeah, as above, try it in the different modes see if it does it with the speaker off

Yep totally common. Mine 245 does the same and every car I’ve had with soundaktor does the same. The nature of the vibration it produces to amplify the engine  sound makes the dash vibrate sometimes as well. In my prefacelift vrs there was a bulletin as the soundaktor came loose but it’s just a bit rubbish really. Keep it in normal and it won’t do it.

One vote for fuel pipes. Very popular issue in Octavia III.

Take it to the service and asked them to fix them. They should be very familiar.
