Seat

Featured Replies

I’ve just replaced the drivers seat foam base in my Vrs Octavia. Vast improvement but seat is very plush & comfortable as opposed to a firm sports seat ?

Better than an upholstered breeze block!

I presume the foam base has been sitting in a warehouse for years unless they are common fit in later cars. Seat is now ‘plush’ rather than ‘ sports’ though I’m not complaining

Where did you get this foam from ?

TPS. Based on registration No. It was the right type compared standard seating foam shape. I'm getting used to it as I was sitting on the right side, metal bolster frame previously. I was wondering if the foam design was discontinued many years ago, does the foam it self  degrade ?

How much did that set you back?

Mine has had over 220k of my behind on it and it’s given in the centre of the cushion,  putting pressure on my coccyx bone, by whatever metal is running down the centre of the seat base.  By the time i realised it was too late. It’s now padded to prevent reoccurance. Took a few years to lose all the discomfort.
