Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Do you have anything to trade in?

If not , that makes things a bit easier as there is only one price to haggle over and you have nothing to lose by using a broker like DTD as the downside to them is bad trade ins.

Either way , get as many print outs of prices as you can and go and see the dealer with them and make it clear that you will buy there car now if you can get a price you are happy with.

If you do have a trade in then get a proper Glass's guide valuation from the vauxhall website and take that with you. Be realistic about the condition of your car , and when they ask you if you have a price in mind give them the print out and tell them what you feel your car is worth.

It's a much easier process if they know that you have a good idea of what is a fair price for both new car and trade in as they are less likely to bulls**t you.

In return , be fair with them. If they offer you a good deal (within a hundred quid of your target) then be prepared to sign now. Don't play hard with them then back out at the last minute or they will think you are a time waster

I only have an xr2i so no point in trading in as worth not alot so that will make things easier. I figured that i would love to get the price i have in mind of

Yep , best sell the ford privately

For £100 difference I'd go to my local dealer.

For £200 I think I'd be inclined to use a more distant one as any dealer can sort minor warranty issues and it's very unlikely you'll have major problems.

I'm buying a new car now , and am getting my loan through direct line and 5.6% apr

The yellow that was used up untill a few months ago was lemon yellow and was a solid colour, this has now been replaced with a new sprint yellow that is metallic. Many dealers say that it is solid but this is not the case. The confusion has come about through the letter skoda sent to dealers saying sprint yellow replaces lemon yellow and some have assumed it is just a brighter solid colour however is metallic too.

But that is all good as I will have one of the first sprint yellow skodas in the UK, only making 20 a week for the first 4 weeks.

Any more pointers are welcome, just looking for online loan quotes now but the prob is that i am a student and I am getting my car prior to starting my new job that i have lined up for when i finish uni and have no proof of income apart from contract. Will only need to make one payment before my job starts ans that will be covered by summer bar work. Anybody know of a nice company that may take this into consideration?

Thanks guys, Carl.
