Radio upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi. Id like to upgrade the stereo in my Roomster from the standard Skoda swing CD/FM radio to one with DAB, possibly from a higher spec Skoda.

Is there any which will fit straight in and work perfectly and match the dash without any odd gaps?

I have an RNS315DAB in my Scout which fits perfectly

Cheers. I'll see if I can pick one up.

If you want BT as well, make sure you look on the label for a valid BT address, not just a row of zeros.

I updated the maps to 2020 spec with an SD card off ebay for £25.

Then you'll need one of those GPS modules with 3m of cable and a fakra connection on the end (£5 on ebay) , they are usually magnetic and fit neatly under the A pillar trim

Thanks for the tip. I got hold of an RCD310 from a Passat for a very cheap price, it's nothing fancy but it'll do what I want.

Will I need to fit an external bluetooth module or is that in the radio?

I'll need to get a DAB aerial as well.

I'm not up on the RCD310 as I wanted the ability to put 64Gb of music on an SD card.

If there's internal BT there will be a proper BT address on the label - not in blank like this 00:00:00

Hi b1ackb1rd, may I know does the reserve parking sensor working with the RNS315DAB in your Roomster?

Also, did you install the DAB Aerial or buy another convertor from the FM cable?

Thank you very much!

@waitpet yes, the parking sensor (when it worked!) worked with the usual picture on the screen.

DAB aerial? I bought one from AliExpress which stuck to the screen, worked absolutely fine and cost £10.

The RNS315DAB is now in one of your Yetis and continues to give excellent service.
