Windows stop working

Featured Replies

How’s your Sunday? Not the first time it has happend the last time it has happend it lasted 6 weeks. Shut the car off and on a few times and it worked so I could get my windows down and enjoy the day but now they are stuck down and I am a tad bit worried that they will stay that way.

have you had these similar problems?

I had this where the switches were playing up. Obviously needed to lock the car up so inserted key in the keyhole of the door, locked it and keep key turned the same way as lock and windows should go up.

Could also be broken wires in the rubber door bellows or the window motor itself as it contains the control electronics which can fail.

Driver's window mechanism not working for the driver's window but can lower passenger seat window only but not wind it up.  Took it to the Skoda garage where they say that the wire (what wire?) has been cut!  Quoting 300€ to mend.  Does anybody know if this is possible, please.

They might mean the wires in the door bellows, they can snap with the opening and closing of the doors over the years. Can be repaired if you're handy with a soldering iron.

This was mine for example...
