RDE1 to RDE2 switch over - what has changed?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know anything about the RDE1 to RDE2 (Real Driving Emissions) switch over and what will actually change? I have had an email saying that this is phasing in at the factory right now and holding things up for a week or so while the implement the switch.

In relation to the kodiaq in MY21 I found this:

The power of the 2.0 TDI is increasing from 190 PS (140 kW) to 200 PS (147 kW) in the KODIAQ too. Just like this engine, the 2.0 TDI with an output of 110 kW (150 PS) and 7-speed DSG complies with the Euro 6d emissions standard. The equally powerful 1.5 TSI will also be converted to Euro 6d and will be fitted with a new-generation 6-speed gearbox in the manual version.

For the 1.5 TSI it does look as though the WLTP fuel consumption has been increased (to 42.7 up from about 37mpg) and CO2 emissions are down to 150g/km

That is a decrease in fuel consumption with a 1.5 TSI not an increase.
