Karoq Sportline 1.5DSG Amundsen Infotainment Question

Featured Replies

Had my 70 plate Karoq Sportline 1.5 DSG for a couple of months now, very pleased with it, (apart from the Navigation system being unnecessarily complex to master! And why Latitude and Longitude labels instead of street names?? Weird).

iPhones are set up with Infotainment system fine, but when I get in the car and switch touchscreen on and then press Media, it immediately seems to trigger the Music app on the iPhone and plays exactly the same start up track every time!

I have made sure Music app is off on the iPhone when I get in but it still triggers and plays that same track!   Looked for a setting that might stop it just starting up and let me  decide what track I want to hear it and when - but cant see it. it happens with 2 different iPhones so  cant be a phone setting.

Any idea anyone?

Is the one track it plays the first on the iPhone alphabetically?

Hi.

Sorry I can't help with iPhone ( I have Android ), but I would suggest you delete your phone from the system and set it up again. But given you don't have street names on the sat nav, then I'd suggest you reset the whole unit back to factory default and start setting it up again.

Regarding playing the same track, can I suggest you check the source?  When you say you select the Media button, there should be several types of media - if I remember right, if that source was bluetooth then like you, the music on the phone would always start playing at track 1.  Ur better off using Apple Car play.

If it's defo the Sportline and you're in the UK then you'll have the Columbus ( that's the larger 9.2" button free touchscreen) rather than the Amundsen ( which is easily identifiable because it has two physical rotary knobs with four hot keys down the left and right of the 8" screen ).

If it's a few months old then it's probably the previous model year. If you have a CD/DVD player in the glovebox, you'll have a MY20 system. The reason MY20 or MY21 is important is because the software controlling the infotainment has changed. The MY21 can be a wee bit temperamental. MY21 car will update to the latest software if you tell it to do so, with MY20 cars, it's best checking if you have the latest software installed.

PS - I can't say if it's similar for Apple Car play but using Android Auto via cable rather than wirelessly, and combined with the new Canton system, the sound is pretty bloody amazing. It far exceeds any expectations I had.

No, the Sportline has the Amundsen as standard, unlike the Edition (and perhaps the SE L?) which have the Columbus as standard. And the MY21 cars also have the new steering wheel and USB-C sockets, and no SD card port.

Hi all, yes it is a UK Sportline and CJJE is correct when he says it has Amundsen and has USB C sockets and fancy steering wheel!  I will try Apple Car play. Thank you for your input!
