Exit message on centre console

Featured Replies

Anyone any idea how to change the exit message that comes up on the centre console when you turn of the ignition? On my second hand Skoda Superb iV Estate (PHEV) It currently says (as shown in photo - but if that doesn't load) 'Got all everything? Mobile phone? Everyone out of the car?' For a car that costs £40k new it's not that impressive! Wondering if the previous owner might have changed it somehow?

Anyone any ideas if I can change this? I have downloaded the updates and it still remains.

Cheers

Andy

No 'got all everything' is far from correct.. I mean I'm not a grammar snob but it just makes me go... really!??... every time I look at it (sigh!)

I knew it had to be wrong but I was just curious if that syntax was "OK" for some sort of slang I'm unaware of, sounds like it's just plain lack of proper English then? :D

Which means there should be a way to customize this, I wonder if @SashaGrace knows anything about it?   I don't remember any relevant menu entry...

Yep - Pretty much lack of proper English :D

Be fab to be able to change it!

This is a new one on me, looks like there is a second page on that message. Mine doesn’t have this screen, looks like an FL Superb. Is Skoda Connect active? Seen custom messages on that.

There is a second page but it's not related to that message. Yep Connect is active (and still displaying confirm messages when it shouldn't - grrr!) I saw the other threads and doesn't seem to be that. It's a Superb iV Estate K&L (so the PHEV that came out this year)- forgive me if I put this in the wrong discussion...eek.

You haven’t, it’s just that I’ve only had one FL Superb in and it had the Amundsen and didn’t have this message. Hopefully some other FL owners may be able to help.

My MY20 Sportline just says "Don't forget your mobile phone", it's a Columbus as well

I went through every possible menu in Skoda Connect yesterday and couldn't find a message customization option anywhere.

I wonder if it's an in-car menu option exclusively on the MY20,  for sure I haven't seen anything like that on my MY19's menu...

I'm curious to get to the bottom of this!

'Everyone out the car'..........................

I didn't know Politicians had anything to do with designing Skoda cars.

How stupid do the designers and manufacturers think their buyers are????

Well, I guess they think we are stupid as they think we believe Skoda are 'Simply Clever', Lol.

@ablgoose Have you tried pressing the ok 'button'???? See what happens. (I'm assuming it is touchscreen).

Or tried contacting the previous owner, or asked the selling garage?

Of-course it goes away if you press OK, but I guess he just wants to get rid of the message itself, at least in that form...

Not clever enough for you then?

Maybe it needs a software update? Mine doesnt say that, just says about the phone

Had a 20 plate iV as a courtesy car last week whilst my Mk 2 was in at dealers for couple of days and it displayed this grammatically challenged exit message more often than not (but strangely not every time).  So I suspect this is standard on MY21 cars but does feel rather unfinished.  Hopefully the next firmware release will be proof read by a native English speaker before being released into the wild rather than just relying on Google translate again!!

So it wasn't coded by the previous owner of the OP's car but it is the stock message, wow!

Shocking eh!!!

How did that pass quality check, or user acceptance testing?!?!?

Sheesh

Anyone know how to turn off the annoying welcome message that appears every time you start driving the Superb iv? I have to press ok each time to get rid of it, very distracting while driving.

Yep thats the message I still have. Tried updating firmware - nothing. Tried talking to skoda support nothing - tried asking the garage that sold me it - nothing. I have just emailed their support email and expect nothing. I am struggling to see how this can be so hard to fix!

thanks for everyone else's thoughts tho!

That's another one I can't resolve. My hyundai use to do that to - not sure what that constant need to press the ok button is about but there must be a hack somewhere!
