Dsg service

Featured Replies

Hi I got a 2020 superb yesterday I was at my dealership and they said it don’t need servicing on the dsg which is a 7 speed yet the dealership I bought it from told me it does any ideas if it is a service on these dsg 7 speed boxes thanks

What engine size and fuel is your car

For years the 7 speed used with smaller engined cars was supposed to be sealed for life, but the 6 speed was wet clutch and needed a fluid change every 38000 miles

Then (about 2 years ago) a 7 speed wet clutch version came along, and some people got confused as now had a 7 speed that needed servicing.   So now depends on which engine and gearbox.

If you can perhaps advise the first 2 three letter codes (which I think are engine and gearbox type) from the sticker (usually one near spare wheel in boot, and another in front of handbook or service book in glovebox).   Someone will then be able to give definitive answer.

That will be a wet clutch DSG box, so will need servicing

Surreyjohn thank you very much has it’s a taxi do I need it done at 40000 miles please

Yep. Usually 40k interval for the wet clutch dsg. 7speed wet dsg has a longer life I think.  I'm sure someone will come along with the figures.

I would definitely ask at the dealer again with the info that it is wet clutch.

I think you're right @MarkyG82. I think it might be around 80k for the 7 speed. I am not 100% sure though.

For those with a DQ381 note @ 80,000 miles and not the 40,000 the other are due to be serviced qt with the exclusion of DQ200's (7 speed twin dry clutch DSG's)

Our workshop schematic was showing the dq381 as a 40k interval same as the the dq250. For the sake of an oil change, I’ll not be going beyond 4yrs-40k with my own.
Just read the above listing. Wondering if there a difference between the front drive and 4wd variant?

Wouldn't imagine why there would be a difference between fwd and the awd versions. Awd haldex will need it's own service separately, iirc 30k miles and ideally with a clean of the mesh in the pump.

Did mine at 20k and there's small amounts of stuff blocking the mesh already.

Official Haldex service interval is 3 years. No mileage is specified as strange as it sounds.

I did mine at 45000 km (~30000 miles). It's a good service interval IMHO.

Indeed, there's no link with DSG service interval whatever FD or AWD...
