Noise on Front Drivers side

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently purchased a right hand drive 66 plate Skoda Octavia Estate

After a few days I noticed a noise coming from the Front offside wheel when turning left. The noise is the same when when driving at slow or high speed. So not sure if it’s rotational when driving. I took it back to the garage  they took it for a drive and heard the noise when turning left, but when the car was lifted up on the ramps they couldn’t find anything. Any ideas or anyone had something similar.

Sounds like the tracking is out.  A bit of a weak point IMHO. You might want to organise a 4 wheel alignment.

Thanks for the response it is difficult to explain. There is  no vibration in the steering wheel it doesn’t pull to the side.

Top strut mounting maybe

I’ve got it booked in with my mechanic who I always use to have a good look over it. See if he can identify anything. Before I take it back to where I bought it from for them to repair with it still being under warranty. Not that I don’t trust a dealership but I don’t😉

Ok. Local garage diagnosed steering rack problem. Took it back to car showroom where I bought it from they told me it’s one of those noises where it could of been from when it was manufactured. Anyway asked. the company I bought it from for them to prove otherwise. ( Consumer rights). So they have arranged for me to take it to a Skoda dealership for them to have a look at. Hopefully get to the bottom of it
