Key options

Featured Replies

In anticipation of car arrival I have two questions re the keys and features

I currently have a Ford which has keyless start only. The key signal effectively goes to sleep to prevent looping and keyless thefts

Does the mk4 key have this feature? Also can I disable the keyless entry and just avail of keyless start?

Thanks

I'm not too sure if the mk4's have the 'goes to sleep' key but it is possible to disable the keyless entry by exiting and locking via the fob - followed by touching the door handle a few seconds later.

Thanks

You should also be able to turn off keyless access in the settings.

I think if you lock with key and then press in the handle this turns if off, but my dealer did say the key goes to sleep after about 40secs
