Help with mods

Featured Replies

I am starting to mod my fabia vrs and know next to nothing about where to start or what mods should be considered. i have had a quick look at the forums and have now ordered an air filter and the pd160 air intake, so any ideas of what i should be doing next?

Do them first, check your insurance quote for additional mods.

Then halve your mod. budget:thumbup:

i have a bit of money set aside and in time enough money shouldnt be a problem. i just want ideas so i can plan ahead a bit, like you said for every mod there is the rise in insurance and this will need to be considered but i just want to know whats out there for me to do to it.

Couple of suspension mods? - lowering springs and strut brace ;) Those two alone will make a huge difference

You could get an air freshner

I would consider doing the stoppy and handly bits before doing the go faster bits, then you and the car are better prepared for any performance increase.

Unfortunately my car is the wrong way around.

There are plenty of helpful links on briskoda for practically anything you want to to. Enjoy:thumbup:

well obviously you can go for a remap but generally this is not insurance friendly. Stick on a set of alloys that are more to your tastes, the Rear Anti Roll Bar seems to have a big impact on handling.

There are lots of possibilities out there basically just find an area of the car you think can be improved then go and look for a solution.

What part of Scotland you from?

The Fabia's biggest weakness is its handling. Get yourself a set of Eibach springs and dampers and the rear uprated ARB. Insurance won't change too much as lowering springs are classified as a cosmetic mod ( ). Apart from making the car much better behaved round corners, it'll also significantly reduce the pitch and dive under acceleration/braking which will make off the line traction and braking much more effective :D

Swapping the factory-fit rubber for something a bit more grippy and a bit less noisy will also make a big difference :D

If you have a big budget, hybrid turbo, big FMIC and free-er flowing exhaust (plus a remap!) will see you hovering around 200bhp and driving much more like a petrol turbo car, and you may also feel you want to uprate the brakes to the 312mm's off the Octy vRS.

If you have an even bigger budget, drop yourself a 1.8T (225bhp :D ) into the Fabia and then mod that ;)

I just fitted the SEAT front strut brace yesterday. Definitely better steering - less interference from bumpy roads, sharper handling around curves and a more stable steering wheel at highway (!) speeds.

Cheap, easy DIY and can be done while thinking of all the more pricey mods.

Good Luck!!
