Roomster Window Motor Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I've had problems with my electric windows not working properly.

With the help of a friend I've replaced the drivers side door switch and wiring loom, checked fuses etc.

We are thinking that possible the windows control unit needs replacing as the windows don't operate at all now.

I have a price for a new unit and it's quite expensive so looking for a used or reconditioned unit if possible.

Can anyone recommend or suggest a an online supplier of used parts. I have looked on Ebay without success.

Thanks for any help

Check the boot's harness as well for rear wiper issues.

I had broken wires between the door and the chassis on mine. (remove the rubber gaiter) I replaced a window motor as well, I got mine from a local breaker.

It fixed my problem which was the car wouldn't lock and set the alarm so it kept triggering randomly.

There is a reset that can be done if you get it to work. lower the front windows completely and raise them with the keyfob.

I also had problem with windows jerking and not shutting properly because the battery was knackered.

Hello loony,

thanks for your reply.

My friend ordered and has received the window control unit, but due to the lockdown I'm not able to visit to have it installed.

So still waiting for the windows to be fixed, hopefully the lockdown will be lifted before too long, I just have to be patient. But then I'm also not really using the car very much presently anyway.
