I have a question regarding the Skoda connect app please. i have connected my 2020 Sportline karoq to the Skoda connect in a hope that i could control my car's horn, lights etc. but unfortunately i could only see logbook, trip planner and service partner options in the app. cannot see all the cool stuff like vehicle status, lights, horn etc. what am i doing wrong? or my car do not support these features?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the connect lite app is on your phone it connects automatically using Bluetooth, you don't have to open the app. It's more solid than the my Skoda app.

It would be helpful if you posted your query in just one thread, not copying it to several!

so Chris, is My21 an app that i could download? yes i have ios and am currently using the old version of the skoda connect. yes i am aware of the new app ugrade. i shall do that once its pushed as an update for IOS.

ah MY21 is the new version of the infotainment system, ok i am with you now. Alas, i have bought the older version of the karoq then. mine is july 2020 make. i guess 2021 makes are post september 2020 models am i correct?

The changeover to the new model year happens during the factory closedown for its summer holidays. This year it was around late July I think, making your car one of the last MY20 cars. But at least you can be thankful that you have the MIB2 Amundsen system, as the MY21 cars switched to a new version (MIB3) which has a much poorer user interface and teething problems (IMO).

what i underatand is that there has to be a sim slot for the system to be online even after the ignition is turned off and car locked. placing a sim stick in the usb would definitely get you the WLAN for infotainment on the go but would not help in remote connection via the app. please correct me if i am wrong. the older cars with columbus systems have a sim slot, which would aid in remote connection.

I'm really confused about it,

i know that columbus have an "esim" but i already know that some people with amundesen use correctly some function like "light or windows status".

In this page you can check via VIN what you can do with your car

mine, have not available to much things..

not sure about that. i wish we could do that. i hope people currently using MIB2 Amundsen could shed some light on this.

Unfortunately I have a MY21 MIB3 Infotainment set up so no direct experience of your Infotainment but..

Have you activated Connect Services in the car itself? It may be that when you are accessing the Connect Portal online (on computer) it is not showing information for the car as the car is not activated and online. Your screen-print says 'information currently unavailable' under Vehicle Status which indicates that either the car is offline or (and quite common) there is a problem with the Connect system on Skoda's servers.

That's what I see too, I'd expect to see my service history in there as it knows my VIN. Skoda have just updated the app on my phone which used to show my digital service history plus some other stuff but now that's all disappeared and all I can do is send a route to the car. The new My Skoda App seems to work for some but not others looking at the reviews in the android play store.

I have just purchased a vw data plug from eBay for a fiver. Will try that on the Skoda connect lite app. I shall update my experience soon

did a quick check of the services available with MY20 skoda models (image1). compared to services available with MY21 models (image 2). no remote access what so ever. this clearly expains why i dont see any of these features in my skoda connect app.

only option would be to get rid of skoda connect app and install a skoda connect lite with dataplug. at least that more features.

so to sum everything up, if you have any models before MY21 in term of connectivity the best you can achieve is to connect a data plug and get some basic info, that is all.

Unless you have a pre MY21 car with Columbus system, which has built in sim slot.

So we now have no access to the on line digital service history or the manual on our phone, back to the old days of a wad of papers then. I somehow don't think that was the intention when they combined the apps, there's a lot of 1 * reviews on the play store including mine which prompted support to answer so will see what they say. I quite like Skoda Connect Lite just a shame you have to indulge in lots of pointless driving to get the points to see interesting information especially as all that info feeds straight into Vag's computers.

As I see we have access to trips , planner, notifications and service partner only, on the new app.
so get a data plug. I have deleted my Skoda connect and installed a lite version of connect. Apparently the vw data plug works with Skoda (read few reviews on it on this forum)

I have access to the manual on the new MySkoda app, but I must say that navigating through it is a backward step compared to what it used to be.
