I have access to the manual on the new MySkoda app, but I must say that navigating through it is a backward step compared to what it used to be.

You'll need to check it's the right one before trusting it! Despite my VIN telling the app that I've got a MY21 Sportline, it gives me an older version of the manual that predates my Amundsen system.

    I'm currently running My Skoda and Connect Lite on my Karoq built in the July to November 2018 period. I have an Android phone, I use something called Hotspot Automatic that creates a hotspot when my

    If the connect lite app is on your phone it connects automatically using Bluetooth, you don't have to open the app. It's more solid than the my Skoda app.

Mine is an MY20 Edition and the manual seems pretty accurate to me so far.

I have installed the new my Skoda app on an Android tab just to get a feel for the new app, as the iOS version is not ready yet. I feel that there is a bug in there as I can’t find any of the previous my Skoda app features. All I see is the same features that I see on my iOS Skoda connect app, which apparently do not have the my Skoda features yet.

Finally have My Skoda working, I had to use the add vehicle, entered my Vin, it told me I already had it in the garage but then it started to work. No digital service history. Agree the manual is worse than in the old app ( only really want that to find out what warning lights mean if I'm out), also seems I have to use the USB cable and open the app and keep it open for it to record the journey, though the info is mildly interesting but not worth the faff. For my money buy a VW data plug from eBay for a fiver and load Connect Lite which just works all on its own via bluetooth, I don't have to do a thing. If that had a digital service history I'd be happy. Connect lite shows me mileage, battery, remaining range.

Guess I will do the same.

@SurreySlowCoach i assumes it’s on  android that you got the app working right ?

Yes on Android

Cool , thank you.

Bad news.

Skoda answered me, there is no way to activate remote service now, they can only be requested at the time of purchase.

However, they advised me to request updates from my service in the future, they say they don't rule out an update about it (but sincerly I don't believe so much).

I'm a bit disappointed, I hope to find an alternative, even at the cost of putting a wifi router connected whit a power bank

I expected that. Internet is not the issue here. Unfortunately the Amundsen MIB2 cannot be online even with LTE sim stick or via WiFi hotspot. It’s not designed to be that way.so I guess the only way would be to wait till the PCP finishes and get a new vehicle .
sorry about that !

We are also missing out on the wireless car play and wireless recharger! Damn!

Just received the vw data plug that I bought off eBay , for a fiver. Can’t believe it’s a genuine one! Dealer price is 40£!!!

its working fine, no issues. I can visualise basic data regarding fuel capacity , mileage ,  battery voltage and time to service and oil change.

What software/app are you using?

Do you have the Ebay link.

tom

Does that give you anything different from just being plugged in via the USB socket and running the app?

@DSL

you were absolutely right. However on the iOS, mySkoda app that used to have the same stats that the data plug, is non existent. So until the new app appears on the iOS, I have no way of checking this data other than using the data plug

Ordered one, if it gets here early enough SWMBO can wrap it! :D

I have the Amundsen w/Care Connect - car is since 2017, O3 FL. With the Skoda Connect (in the iOS it is not yet upgraded) I am able to see the car's position, details about trip info, fuel etc., status of the  windows/doors AND I can use the app to honk the car/flash the blinkers. Also I can generate a vehicle report.

All these I can do regardless I am in the car or not/engine is running or not.

As I know, the Amundsen with Care Connect option has a built-in sim card that can communicate to Skoda servers in order to generate the info/actions described. Also, starting with production date 2018, the app can be used to lock/unlock the car (with the Care Connect option).

@SwatKat

that is fantastic news. Thanks a lot sharing! Just to confirm, you don’t see a sim slot in the glove box then, right ?

No, no actual/visible SIM. It's a communication module (OCU module) I guess, as I had some problems with it this spring - It stopped working and were errors with Skoda Connect app - they had to do a reset of somekind.

Back to topic, yes, if the car has the Care Connect option, even with the Amundsen (and I remember that is also true with Bolero) the car can communicate with Skoda servers and you receive information via the Skoda Connect app. I was told that this communication works even in roaming - I guess the cost of the Care Connect option covers entirely the cost of this communication.

That is very weird. I don’t see these features in the app. I have the care Connect plan too, which has come with the vehicle since purchase. So I guess I will have to nip to Skoda dealer and ask him if there is further settings that I have to do.

but thank you so much for sharing though.

do you see the remote access ?

I have the Care Connect and Infotainment Online services activated. But the Care Connect option is the one in question here.

This is the info for my car:
