Well sory matey but you are being a w...er as they are few and far between i have exhaustively search the internet and papers looking for one to braek, maybe you know better than i do who knows but if you can find one id gladdly go down that rooute, however as none are available then what am i meant to do, leave it rotting in the garden untill one is available.

All suggestions gratefully received and your right life is to stressful to have to bother with things like this but when theres nowt else you can do apart from buy all new parts most of which are not available anyway.

I ask you, dont you think we have exhausted all other options before going down this route, let me tell you we have , but thanks for your input anyway all suggestions considered

How about this one thats on Autotrader?

A bit far away maybe but it's about your 600 squidly did mark.

Don't know if it's the same as your caddy or not mate.

You were after suggestions......

not wishing to pee on your bonfire, but I suggest you were robbed.

No offence meant but that was a lot of money you paid fella...

I don't know - there's the pick-up and a diesel at that, a truckman top, a loadliner and that great big Thunderbirds style lift off camper back. Maybe some of it's a bit dog eared but it looks great fun.

thought there was a few around, maybe not diesel, but a few petrol unit lying around, my mates garage had one for sell the other week, if your interested in a petrol unit, then tell me here and I will have a shout at him to see if it is there still.

Cheers Guys state the obvious why dont you and kick a guy when hes down in all that, lol.

I am pretty well aware of the fact i was done and am taking steps to rectify it as we speak, trading standards are very intrested in this case and to who ever it was who though it waspossibly a good buy Trading Standards do not agree with you a bit dog eared round the edges would of been acceptable guys but down right dangerous to the point of an immediate 3 vosa prohibition notices being placed on it is not funny, we are not all mechanics you see, and i am probably far to trusting in my fellow humans, but when someone clearly disquises himself as a private individual in order to trade motor vehicles and more importantly a motor vechile that potentially could of killed me and possibly others he HAS to be brought to justice, whether i get any money back is not the issue here, what is however is that he cannot be allowed to do it to someone else, im sure if it were any of you or your family none of you would of been happy as we are not, but i have it now and for the meantime i need to get it sorted to at least make it legal.

We have independantly had the vechile valued in its current state with around £2000 of repairs being required to put it sort of right guess what the valuation was ? [including the truckman and caravanette parts], and i will offer £100 cash to anyone that gets it right, coz i gaurentee knowone will.

So onwards and upwards i say hopefully, thanks to the guy that spotted one for sale, it might be of intrest but to far away for now, if i cannot find one soon however i might be required to brodden my search to further climes.

So far we cannot locate strut tops nor sills for it anyone help ?

As far as purchasing another vechile goes i would rather purchase a scabby one to break than one that is mot`d and taxed etc as it seems and awful shame to braek a good one, if i could get a good one at the right price dont ned the truckman etc i would simple change everythng over onto it but as there is a weight issue here with the camper etc it really has to be a deisel one for the torque as a 1.6 petrol i dont think would have the power when loaded.

So in ending this may i say that im impressed with the level of comments on this forum and the assistance gained so far, i will continue my search for a donor vehicle for now whilst the welding is being done anyway as its laid up for now at any rate whilst that continues, and see if i cant get a semi decent car/estate i can braek and get most of the nessesary parts from it.

Anyone know of the whereabouts of a deisel car or estate going cheap in raesonable nick then and i will consider going down that route unless anyone can suggest a better one.

Free assistance whilst constructive is always a boon.

Cheers for now

ps i will be checking out the one in Auto Trader also will report what i find, the guy who said his pals garage had one copuld you attempt to find out if they still have and let me know the details

New details about to be posted on my blog hopefully tonight guys this is fast becoming more and more like trial at sunset than anything else but its a sure way of me venting my frustration by writing this log the new bits will make intresting reading.

Hopefully some new pics also by the end of the week at the garage showing the extent of the problems i face with this.

If i can assist anyone locally with their respective projects just holler and ill do whatever i acn to assist.

Sorry about my previous retort, and best of luck with your quest for justice, and rebuild project:thumbup:

We've all been caught out at some time I suppose. My worst was a Hilman Avenger from a supposed mate. Had a new MOT much like yours I think. I crawled under to adjust the front brakes and found the suspension crossmember was working its way up through the car. It was only the weight of the car holding it in place. The rest of the car was much the same.

I still reckon the camper looks great though, hope you get it sorted out. Good luck.

Cheers guys i intend to get sorted and if possible to coin a phrase used elsewhere in this forum to make this shed "a crying, talking, sleepin walkin" cool dude motor.

For anyone intrested the legal stance contrary to popular delif is that even when buying privaetly, you do still have many rights it all depends on the wording of the advert as mine read in "good condition" and with 2 vosa notices placed on it 8 days later it can hardly be described as such, Trading Standards are taking a keen intrest in this and WILL take action to stop it from happening again.

Enough of that anyway my blog tells all for those that want to know more suffice to say justice will be done, but there is a lesson to be laernt by us all, namely look. look and prod if the owner doesnt like it walk away there will always be another one,[in this case im not quiite so sure about that, which is why i was duped into it i suppose], that and the fact we were desperate for a camper and i have ms so there fore couldnt really check it over in anycase, but if by me losing a fortune anyone else can be saved then its money well spent i say...

sorry I have not responded until now..... I will ring my buddy and see if the motor is still there and get some details for you :D

I am glad Trading Standards are doing something :D I do hope things go well in this case.

Cheers matey, would appriciate that as there seems to be a severe lack of them, or for that matter any skodas at a reasonable prices these days.

Update Trading Standards and our lawyers are forging ahead to sort this mess out, looks like however that i will in any case be left holding the baby, as in looks like no matter what happens ill get to keep it.

Welding now three times what we first thought and mechanics fast catching up, still at the end it will be a brand new motor
