Thanks looks like the Kodiaq RS will ditch the dirty 240PS diesel engine in favour of the 1.4TSi petrol hybrid with 116PS electric motor to match the 245PS engine in the Octavia Vrs iV.

So financial benefits for business users in the UK just as long as that use for business or pleasure use does not require towing anything with some weight like a car transporter with a car on it.

Nope, no internal information of this. In erWin the 2.0 TSI 245PS engine has been added to the engine derivatives of the Kodiaq. No idea where the PHEV talk is coming from the original post.

George if you haven't noticed diesel sales across Europe in the last decade have been falling for every maker from Volvo to Skoda.

Volvo diesel sales 90% of total European sales in 2014 then 64% in 2018.

BMW diesel sales 81% of total European sales in 2014 then 57% in 2018.

Skoda diesel sales 48% of total European sales in 2014 then 36% in 2018.

Volkswagen diesel sales 56% of total European sales in 2014 then 39% in 2018.

Audi diesel sales 72% of total European sales in 2014 then 48% in 2018.

All manufacturers are offering vehicles with EV power, petrol or petrol/hybrid rather than diesel because that is what people are demanding and purchasing.

@shyVRS245  I really have noticed.

I also spotted that after the VW Defeat Device scandal VW Group were going to produce petrol engines for the Light Commercials like the Pickups and Caravelle

and efficient diesels.  That is because people do need work vehicles that can carry loads and tow.

Nothing wrong with Hybrids as long as they are not just about kidology for the Tax Man and produce fake emission figures under testing.

They need to have the power required when needed which could be all day or night and emitting lower emissions.

VW Groups Plug in Hybrids and Mild Hybrids are not doing that if used for high daily mileages be that a passenger car, multi people carrier or light goods vehicle.

EV's are still not an answer to carrying heavy loads out and about over distances or with a weight being towed behind.

In the car on his own driving a heavy car without the weight of all the seats filled and the boot, let alone bikes on the rear.

Might as well be in a VW UP! using petrol or a e-Up using electric, but a Skoda Superb iV or a Kodiaq iV (if they do one.) would be taking the pith really.

But then he needs to get a big picture in rather than have it delivered.....

But then a VW Van which is a hybrid making the delivery with lots of other drops would be no more fuel efficient or clean than a diesel with SCR.

If that's true on VRS Kodiaq I will be changing to a Cupra Formentor and back to the Golf R motor then thanks.

Is cheaper than the current Kodiaq VRS in NZ by $4k too and all you lose is a bit of room by the looks of the specs.

I seriously doubt the Enyaq VRS will be affordable or good value for what it is over here.

Knowing SEAT interior quality you’ll probably regret it to be honest.

i'm a sucker for tan leather

Formentor or Leon Sportstourer (which is another $3k cheaper again)?

I see the top spec Formentor has the Sportline/RS seats - which in the Cupra Ateca are a $3k extra from memory.

don't do Cupra, mate. on their forums, all they talk about is MPG, and all manner of warranty-busting, purpose-defeating mods eg LPG conversions

I need ground clearance where I go so Formentor I would think is better. If they had an Octavia Scout with the Superb Scout's 200kw motor I'd have a look at that too except then it would destroy the VRS Octavia so that isn't happening. Superb is too long to fit in my garage.
I like the VRS Kodiaq's Diesel motor now, but anything less than the 200kw petrol motors is going backwards in performance in the Kodiaq.

The 310hp EA888 was great in my Golf so should be similar in the Formentor.

Got a couple of years yet in the Kodiaq unless our crazy government makes diesels inconvenient, so see what happens, Skoda may surprise us.

There’s no way our government will shaft diesel, our problem is the average car age in NZ and thus tailpipe emissions of euro 2-5 cars.

Agree. But they don't let science get in the way of a good story to look like they care overseas. Farms, Gas industry etc.
Might be another way Zac vs fuel, large SUVs or UTEs might be seen as unfriendly instead then.

@ZacDaMan72 Just use a search engine like Goggle and Google images and ask for Tan Leather Colour and you will see the many shades that throws up.

Includes a lovely Kodiaq retrim.   (Maybe also the interior of a Enyaq.
