Skoda Citigo EV similar to VWID1 coming soon?

Featured Replies

No way Jose will it take til 2025 before VW Group turn out something new that is smaller than a ID.3 that is a full EV.

They need the average emissions down and kidology with 1.0 & 1.5 TSI hybrids will not cut it.

As it is the e-Up!, Mii Electric and the discontinued Citigo iV's are pretty damn good.

I agree with @e-Roottoot, that's not gonna happen for a long time. The electric Mii and e-Up are sold out for the foreseeable future and you cannot order one. While they can sell everything they make, no incentive to come out with "Id.1"

VW Group at least have type approved and functioning small EV's with the Up!MiiCitigo electrics.

Seems they should be doing more of these and getting them on the road rather than rushing out the bigger EV's and Mild or Plug in Hybrids with snagging faults and downright software failings.

They are causing the paying customers time wasting & expense just to save VW Group paying penalties because they are not going to meet lower emissions.

So this is the platform / base for the small Skoda / VW / Audi EV's.

🤢🤮

Whilst it's nice to see the smaller EV, why are all EV coming with 19/20/21" wheels?

Drop down to a 16" wheel size or even a 17" and the range would go up due to lower rolling resistance.

Would also reduce tyre replacement costs and the cost per mile :)

205/55 R16 is the way.

After I bought my Octavia with 18 inch OEM wheels from private seller. I rang around a few dealers asking if they want to swap out their 16 inch wheels on their advertised cars for the upgraded 18 inch. No one was interested......

Like you, car came with 18, but the winter 16" get better MPG, even when they're running winter tyres.

Makes little sense in a world of increasing energy prices and targeting lower CO2 emissions.

205/55/R16 is a good tyre size for comfort and stability although I wouldn't object to a 17" for sportier versions.

15/16/17 used to be the choice and now we are at 19/20/21 are the choices.

Perhaps substance ought to come above style a bit once again, but I doubt it will happen.

We will see just what the New Elroq EV is like and hopefully practicality has priority over stylee.

Then i do hope Skoda are going to be having a smaller EV of the type of a CitiGo iV / Mii Electric / e-Up!
