Acceleration/drive mode

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is a silly question, I’ve been reading the manual and I don’t have a drive mode button that I can find.

I’ve got an SE first edition, on the dash the acceleration mode is Eco, how do I change it? On my old superb I just had a button, it’s a manual.

One of the buttons under the infotainment display brings up a screen that allows you to select drive mode. It has a picture of a car with MODE written underneath.

That button doesn't seem to exist in the SE First Edition.  There must be a way to change it?!

Sorry, I’ve got the SEL First Edition. Maybe it’s one of the differences.

Yeah, the ones you have Mode and Assist on are just blank.  I've messaged Skoda on Facebook, will see what they say.

Any other non L owners on here?  I guess it might be there are no modes, and its just normal, and the Eco thing is just a monitor??

There is an eco indicator that comes on occasionally, white in a white circle I think, which is just telling you the engine is running in 2 cylinder mode I think.

I think I saw that pop up at some point last night, is that just an auto thing then?

I meant on the dash circles, on the right one there is an "acceleration mode" option and it basically says Eco, with 2 half circle bars each side, that change dependant on your acceleration - so it is a monitor of sorts, just wondered if the Eco in the middle was just saying this is showing how economic you are, or if its the actual mode like the name suggests?!  It's new so I cannot really drive it particularly hard anyway.

Skoda said the model doesn't come with "Dynamic Chassis Control", which is why it doesn't have that button, I guess its not an acceleration mode, and just a monitor!

Yes this is just so you can see your driving eco friendly, you can change that screen to other things like radio, phone sat nav and stuff, as for mode button on first editions its only in SE L not SE unless you paid for it i believe (none first editions the mode button is a extra paid thing)

That is actually a g force meter apparently. Not much point on smaller engines in my opinion (mines only 1.5) but I guess it’s something to do.

To be honest the mode button doesn't make all that much difference, it is standard on my Mark 3 SE Tech Octavia. The annoying thing with it is that any changes you make there are automatically ditched when you next stop the car and you then have to reset it again to your preferences next time you restart it. Earlier Mark 3 cars were able to retain their settings somehow, so no great loss to you if it isn't there in the Mark 4 car!
