Radio logos

Having problems updating the radio station logos on my columbus system
I have downloaded the logos onto a usb drive but when I try to update a station logo it just shows a blank screen and no logo to select. Tried both in a folder and not in a folder on the drive.
They are .png files
I know the car can see the usb drive as if I put music on it, it will play that fine.
Any one any ideas what I am doing wrong

Mine loaded automatically, without me needing to give any logos. (But then I use just the main stations, with nothing abstruse, and I suppose the logos for other stations may not come through?)

Same here most are automatically applied... only 2 are blank, not bothered to add.

On other cars it has been fully automatic.

Only have one logo for the main radio stations we use.

No logos for Absolute Radio or RadioX which I use the most.

Just cannot seem to get it to find any logos on my usb drive so I can put them on the car.

This is a common problem for MIB3 Infotainment systems, and has threads in the Karoq section.

I have been in contact with a Skoda UK tech support guy, who confirms that:

1) Logos for popular stations such as Classic FM, Smooth..., Absolute... etc are not included in the Radio Logo file that you can download. (He was suggesting it might be due to licencing problems, although I don't really follow his argument.)

2) Even if you add the missing logos to the file and try to read it through a USB-C port, there seems no way to point the software to use them.

I am also wondering if the MIB3 systems rely on the radio stations broadcasting their own logos (some do, but many don't) and so hasn't provided a way of adding your own.

He has reported the problem back to Skoda HQ, but it seems to be VAG-wide, and so may need to be remedied by the MIB3 experts.

I have started a thread in the general Infotainment section to try to collate these problems as many MY21 models will be affected.

Cheers.

Guess you cannot update the logos on the latest models then.

I did find the logos I wanted and added them to the file and separately on my usb drive but no luck.

My car was delivered end of October so probably the latest model so will have to live with it.

On my last car .. set the stations I wanted, main ones had logos... others were blank..  but within a day all had correct logo via station transmitted download.

DAB radios can get Logos from within the digital data stream (xPAD) from individual stations, or as part of the EPG guide.  So likelihood is  AG do not fully support xPAD.

And if/when you get a logo installed, there's a bonus prize if you can get the logo to show on both the central (big logo) screen as well as the digi dash (small logo) screen.

I gave up wasting time on our cars after downloading logos from web and labouring through the installation to car from chip.

  • 2 years later...

Has anyone managed to update logos on a 22 year car?

All my other cars was just able to upload them from a usb A drive.
