I took my car to the garage to get the alternator belt done last week. When I brought it back and took it to my dad's, he had noticed that the hose/pipe/cable had been split when the garage had taken the engine cover off. I did notice that the numbers on this part were noted as 03c103558. I've been looking through the Internet to find a replacement but been finding it hard to find one. I don't know if other parts of the same fitment could be used to replace the split part or if the replacement part has to be a like for like for the original part.

Does anyone know the proper name for the part as I've seen vent hose and breather hose for the part under the engine cover?

Vent hose.

Gaffer tape the split closed or expect to pay a bit over £20 for a new one by quoting that part number at any VW Group dealership, or possibly easiest by chatting to Mike:
