Coolant Query – G12?

Featured Replies

Recently joined Club Yeti, and the coolant is in need of topping up. Apologies if this has been covered here before!

The coolant reservoir states G12, and the coolant colour is a bright red/pink colour (see photos).

According to EuroCarParts (inputting my registration plate), I should be picking: G12/G12+, or G13

According to Halfords (inputting my registration plate), I should be picking: G40, or GG40.

Which should I be using? Can someone recommend a reliable source for purchasing the correct (concentrate or ready-mixed) type?

If it helps, the car is a 2014 Skoda Yeti, Outdoor Elegance Greenline II TDI.

Many thanks!

Surely the G12 on the coolant reservoir is correct, no matter what parts suppliers websites tell you.

G40 is apparently similar to G12 ( different manufacturers)

but as it is advised not to mix coolant I would stick with the recommended G12.

G13 is now the recommend coolant and it's compatible with G12.
It is pink.

I was told never mix Blue with Pink or vice versa any variation in letters or numbers in Either colour is coolant strength rating.

Is this outmoded information?
