Urgent help on steering

Featured Replies

Please I need advise on how to fix power steering light error on dashboard and making my steering stiff when I want to turn left or right

@Pamuna

Welcome.

Best say what age your car is, what engine it has and how it came to have this fault.

Your are going to need someone that can look at the car diagnose what the fault actually is.

Can bad battery be the issue

What year is the car?

@Pamuna

Do you have a bad battery as well as the stiff steering?

Check the battery, charge or replace and if the steering is all good then that was a simple fix.

I think I might need to change the battery 1st to confirm if the battery is causing this issue tho

It is very possible that it is the original battery at that age, and as such is very much on its last legs. A battery should be a cheap enough item to change, comparatively.

Sure, I definitely change the battery but can that also possibly cause the airbag light to appear on a constant on dashboard

Dying batteries on modern cars cause all sorts of warning light faults. But there is also a possibility your engine light fault is really trying to tell you something. Start with the battery change.

hi, do  the commands on the steering wheel work?

Poor battery, not holding a charge caused my traction control light to come on. Having read the the codes it said throttle position sensor at fault. Codes reset, it happened again, took into the garage and they confirmed what I already knew. But their clever mechanic tested the battery, confirmed to be below par.

New battery solved the problem.

Morale of this story, get your battery checked first👍
