Hello I have cut a new key with a blank chip for my car. Someone said if I leave the key in with the ignition turned on for 30 minutes it will self program the new key. Does anyone know if this works or will I need to get it professionaly programmed. I do not know my key code or immobilizer code. Thanks 

No of course it won't work otherwise nicking immobilised cars would be really easy.
