Setting Up Primary User & Skoda Connect

Featured Replies

Evening All,

Having some real trouble trying to setup my Superb and wondered if anyone could shed some light on the situation.

Took delivery nearly a week ago of a Superb SE L iV Estate in the UK, loving the car but can I balls setup the Primary User in the car. I've tried everything i can think of. Tried using both the Skoda App and the Website, I type the VIN in and then got to activate in the car following the instruction (three keys were delivered with the car so I've had all three with me when trying to set it up). Start the car select to setup a primary user, input my email address and password, click register, the infotainment system thinks about it for 30secs then just says an error occurred. Also tried using the Log In button as well but says 'unable to load profile'.

Tried using the integrated WiFi, using my home WiFi and using my mobile as a hotspot. Factory reset the car, deleted the apps and just tried using the website but cant get past activation. Is there something i'm missing or does this need setting up by a dealer?  The car is on a personal lease so not sure if that has anything do with it?

Having done a little reading i couldn't find a similar issue. These are the things I've pieced together so far (may or may not make a difference). It's a 70 plate so MY20, with it being an SE L it has integrated WiFi, does this make it MIB3? There are no SD card slots in the glove box, looks like what ever was there is now just blanked off. No upgrades to the infotainment system so assuming this means it's an Amunsden unit and not Columbus. Hardware = H12, Software = 0156, Nav Database = 19.7 - when i click on update software or the online download nothing happens so assuming these are up to date?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Ben

Is the car activated in the MySkoda app? You need to run the app and press the unlock button on two of the keys whilst following the instructions on the screen. I think this is the first step in setting up profiles.

No when I log into the app the car is there in My Garage saying 'Not Activated', I click on the Activate then head to the car with the keys and input the email and password, it doesn't say any thing about holding the unlock button down though. Will go and try it now and see what happens. Cheers

Just gone and tried it holding unlock down on 2 of the keys and same as before. Not sure where to go from here.

Just set mine up.
logged into my Skoda, with my user account setup,  then went out to the car, but with only two keys as per screen instructions.

In my Skoda app, put the vin number by photographing the vin plate

then it was just a case of waiting for the car to register the two jeys (not the third)  then made myself primary user.

then put the MY Skoda app on the wife’s phone, and setup her own account.

opened the car with the second key plip, went through the screen “setup another user” again photo the vin, this time only the second key already used on the primary, setup, but made sure my primary key wasn’t with me.

then inputted the S pin if wife’s abd tgat was it, both prinary and secondary setup.

third key not setup,Mobutu tgat will 9nly be a backup anyway

Just deleted the car from the app then gone out and done exactly that with two keys, the camera got some of the digits wrong though so had to manually change a couple of them. Went through it again and no luck still.

Couple questions, was your phone already setup with the car? Do you know what software version is on your car? Just been looking at a couple of other threads and others are different and seem to be higher. Also wondered if there is anyway to test the signal strength the car has with the internet and if that could be a factor.

Hi Ben

What month your car has been manufactured?

Connection issues may occur (i have experienced them) but parked next to my house I have connected to my wifi and done set up without problems.

I have set up the account before going to the car, Connect recognised the car without issues, Activated smooth as well.

While in the car primary user activation went ok too. Unclear was only personalisation as the manual supplied is outdated. '21 models do not have Personalisation option at all (according to Skoda) within the Menu. All is linked to the user account. I have set both mine and my wife's and while using separate keys car recognises users/applies user settings.

Hi Greg, it's a 70 plate and the certificate of conformity was dated 04/07/2020.

Just tried deleting the car from the myskoda app again, removed the links to app on the Skoda profile and gone through the motions again. Went out and got the vin number, created the S pin, unlocked and jumped in the car when prompted with two keys, navigated to primary user input details then throws up an error after 20secs.

If I may - delete whole lot, re set car to the factory settings. I had similar issue over number of attempts untill I have wiped off all and calmly started again. This was in my experience caused by connectivity issues. Ensure also you have 2 keys with you in the car only. Also, personalisation requires only one key around the car at the time you are setting the things up. Otherwise all ends up with wasted time. Let me know if you gotten anywhere.

Issue now resolved. Deleted all accounts and IDs then did the setup fully through the infotainment system. Found the incar sequence to be alot more intuitive than playing around the app / Web browsers. Thanks for all the advice guys.

Do you have to accept the Skoda Connect packages to become a primary user. There are 3 options on the app, Care Connect - Proactive Service, Remote access and Infotainment online.

it says they will cost £0 and will expire March 2022. What happens after this? I don’t really want to pay for those features after that date.

im just sick of seeing the primary user message every time I get in the car.

Hello

i have recently brought a 2017 Kodiaq SE L and haven’t been able to connect my phone to the app properly as it says expired on my licenses but when I brought the car I was given 12 Months access to Skoda connect app,

I have tried using my phone & the website and also using my phone as a hotspot the car and also my own home WiFi still no luck and I am struggling to delete the profile from my car now as well comes up with “Error”

would love to get some help with this issue if possible

LBaker24. Is your connect account set up in full, can you log in from PC?

I had similar issues all down to the issue with MIB3 alone. After carrying factory reset all eventually started working. In online services list I had one entry visible on MIB screen showing some random symbols. Obviously program issue. When all cleared off car connected ok, personalisation started working.

I recently logged into the portal to find that my services had expired and I needed to buy them again, so I have emailed the dealer in which I purchased the car from asking as to why I have to buy this when I was told I had 12 months free 🤷‍♂️ Awaiting reply from them but thank you @greg_aniol for you response
