There is no set time ,all depends on your milage and driving style ,are you light on your brakes or a heavy braker ,best way to tell is at your mot or pull the wheels off and see whats left on the pads.

Many thanks for the reply I am new to this site and appreciate the help.

Your welcome mate.

By the Manufacturers Recommendation (Not a schedule) the brake fluid is due being replaced at 3 years.

Brake Checks are free at Skoda Main Dealer services / visits to a workshop supposedly.

Then if getting  Skoda Main Dealer Servicing you might get told that the Discs are 80% work even if not 20%. and the discs might be more need replaced than just the pads are.

The new Skoda UK servicing regime has the Extended Scope Service each 3 years.  Oil & Inspection Services each year if on fixed service intervals.

You should have a brake pad wear indicator ..... alternatively listen for the giveaway grinding sound ;)

Seriously though as mentioned above, driving style will effect longevity - how many miles has it done so far?

I usually get my fronts done every 25k and the rears 35k. The discs lasted 145k on the front but had the rears done whilst it was in.

Never had the brake fluid changed in 5 years and 183k.

Pads done every 25K? Are you driving with your left foot on the brake pedal?

@gm73Do you ever have the brake fluid checked for the H2O content?

Just what I was thinking.

I was told at my last service in September and at the MOT in December that the rear pads were down to 4mm and the front discs were lipped. But considering the fact that I am likely to be working from home until possibly 2021 and even then unlikely to go back to commuting every day (thank goodness) plus the current lockdown in England, I'm not stressing about getting them done yet (normally I always err on the side of caution especially with brakes and tyres) as I'm hardly using the car at all approx 50 miles a week tops.
