Buying OBDeleven

Featured Replies

I am looking to purchase an OBDeleven next gen dongle and wonder if anyone has bought one direct from the manufacturer since 1st Jan. I am concerned about additional charges for Vat and delivery. They say delivery will be slower but can't advise on additional costs. Their prices look favourable compared to Amazon and eBay sources but not if you are landed with unexpected costs.

Buy ut via Amazon, that’d what I did. All tax and delivery included

I bought mine direct last September, but it did take an age to arrive, so Amazon would probably be the quicker option as well as safer financially.

Anyone bought one direct from https://obdeleven.com/ this year, or all via Amazon?  Starter Pack is £90 on Amazon, but only £67 direct from the manufacturer.  That £67 includes £12 of "taxes" but I haven't had a reply from them as to whether or not those taxes include UK VAT now that we're not in the EU.

I would advise to be wary ordering anything from the EU until this mess gets sorted.

Tax would be VAT.. there should be no other taxes to pay because under £135 value the tax is paid by the vendor (i.e. added at their end), not the buyer..

Even if you had to pay vat on the £67 it'd still be a tenner less than Amazon.

Is there any real difference between the different versions of OBDEleven available?

What are the credits for? Are they for future purchases/top ups?

Which one has good functionality without having to continue paying?

I bought the pro kit so it allows for long coding and it’s handy to keep at home for simple tasks. You use credits for tasks such as service light might be 10 credits, or handbrake service mode, another 10 etc. Adaptions can be more if you use the auto function. So say 10 for rear drl’s active, or 100 for road sign recognition.  If you open the app every day, you get one free credit and you can watch short adds to get another 5. I’ve saved up over 800 credits since Christmas and I doubt I’ll need very many of them.

I purchased one from their website last week, I paid what it said on The screen, no extra charges, and one of the delivery options was 'fulfilled by Amazon' think it was £6 for the delivery. Took about 2-3 days to arrive.

Ahh, I just ordered one from Amazon earlier this week.  Nevermind.  It arrived today and it seems to work OK, at least identifying a throttle body fault on a VM Polo TDI.

Also bought one (the non pro one)I'm , waiting to arrive - bought it mainly to adjust the steering response, make it RPM/speed dependant. I hate the default setting with the soft steering response (I don't have the driving mode selection option that would have allowed fot these changes).

We'll see if I'll do other small tweaks like needle sweep a.o.- provided these are automatic and don't require long coding/etc.

Can anyone confirm if you can use this to change the VAQ diff settings on the vRS245??

VWIW, there are much cheaper ways to check for fault coders, I bought a £10 OBD bluetooth reader, and use the Torque Pro app if thaty's all you want to do.
