Absolute rubbish 🤣🤣

2022 Car eh? So you've had it for a month? I'm at almost a year of the endless software problems. The lights are entirely software controlled - it doesn't require a huge amount of mental fortitude to realise the problem does it? Unlike a lot of people, mine have actually been recalibrated to spec for this country so they have less problems than they originally did, but given how many systems refuse to accept Right hand drive is even a thing, it's pretty f-ing clear you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • The issue with automatic dipping is a person dips when they see the light from the other car. The car dips when it sees the other car. A good couple of seconds longer in some cases.

  • Ive had an Audi with Matrix lights and the wife has them the last 5 years,my company also has a 2020 RS which has had zero problems but you rock on making assumptions on people and cars you know nothi

  • I can tell you another situation where the matrix headlights dont work as they should, & when you consider it they never could, it is really dazzling and dangerous for oncoming drivers.

I am not making assumptions about people when I am dazzled on the autoroute, the only assumption is that their vehicle has chocolate teapot matrix headlights, the assumption is made because their beam pattern changes (to non dazzling) quicker than it takes for my eyes and nervous system to see the main beamflash from my own headlights warning them.

Exactly the same thing happens when one is following me at a distance on an unlit section of autoroute with no other vehicles around, the instant I put on my rear fogs their beam pattern adjusts, if I slow down to close the gap the lights never go back up.

Now I'm sure these drivers think the illumination from their lights is wonderfull but if they did not abdicate responsability to the inadequate "driver aid" systems (inadequate both as a system and a system for inadequate drivers!) they would not even be using high beam on a very well defined autoroute, nobody else myself included does so especially  when there are vehicles in front or coming the other way.

Last I checked, we're in a subforum related to matrix headlights on Octavia's, on a forum for Skoda's, not ****ing Audi's. It's not the same unit nor the same software. Your company may have it, but clearly you haven't been daily driving it, so again, the assumption is clearly valid.

Assumptions again 🤷‍♂️

Mine on 2022 kodiaq sportline are spot on. On straight roads bendy country roads that  I live on and there working spot on. To be honest my favourite thing about the car.

I had these fitted on my Octavia and they were awful. They were faulty / incorrectly set and dazzled other drivers all the time. On dipped, they didn't provide sufficient light on the road ahead. It took much longer than it should have to confirm the fault with the dealer because they just weren't trained. When I sent it in, they'd park it up on a MOT test wall and declare them as fault free. In the end, I refused to drive the car at night as I didn't feel it was safe.

I've since rejected the car for this (and other faults) and now drive a VW Tiguan which also has matrix LED fitted. The difference is night and day (pardon the pun). I've had the car for 9 months and driven it in a wide variety of conditions and can't remember ever being flashed. Visibility is excellent, at least as good as the Xenons I had in my Yeti, When done properly, they are a genuine improvement. I've noticed other cars with them and, after my first couple of encounters, I barely notice them now.

An old thread i know but something needs to be pointed out. A friend owns a 2023 Tiguan with matrix headlights. He told me he gets flashed at times , a different story that you are telling. They are also far from perfect. I currently own a B8 Passat with dynamic light assist ( not matrix). They work great on back roads etc but on long stretches they can be lazy due to the car being far away. I have adapted to using them in certain environments.

I have a 22 plate octavia vrs and have these lights just like a lot of more vats on the road.nearly 2 years since I got I have only ever Been flashed on e.

Only ever been flashed by a BMW driver, but they don't count as drivers! 😉
