Hello forums!

I was recently in an accident that ruined the hood/bonnet on my Octavia mk1 so now I have to get a new one. I can't find any pre-facelift bonnets where I live, so my question is, can I fit the grille from the pre-facelift to the post-facelift bonnet? Are the the bonnets identical but with different grilles?

 

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance!

The bonnet parts diagram for a pre-FL (1997) bonnet is here, and for an FL (2003) bonnet is here.  Both are showing the same part number for the bonnet.

bonnets are the same. bumper (i think), lights, grill and possibly wings are different.

The lights were different. The FLift had clear plastic lenses, the original were glass IIRC.

Perfect! Thank you so much! I actually managed to find a junkyard with an fl-bonnet just a few km from where I live, so I'm gonna go there some day this week and see if it fits (and isn't a rust bucket). Could just swap the grilles then

Update: As expected, it fit perfectly. Same screw layout and everything
