What size are you fitting?

Uniroyal Rainsport 5s are wet focused tyres, so work very well in the rain. The tread pattern is designed to reduce aquaplanning.

Who would ever of guessed that a tyre named 'rainsport 5' might be wet weather focused.

One would have thought so, but not everything matches up to its name.

Firestone used to market a tyre called FuelSaver. When the Euro labels came in, this so called FuelSaver tyre scored a very poor F for rolling resistance.

Have the discontinued them then?

I will have to get the Firehawks.

@Ben46How you getting on with them? I had Rainsport 3 on my Fabia MkI vRS and they were very grippy... however they are so soft the fronts were knackered in under 8,000 miles. The sidewall was rather soft too which made roll more apparent, I think they suit lighter and comfort focused cars better, especially on the rear where the quick wear rate isn't a factor; they served well on a Mazda 2 under my care.

Yh i had the same issue they were very grippy just wear really fast especially with the summer heat but on the rear perfect especially for the price of them i got 10,000 out of them. 👍🏻
