 just reading something on MSN about a new high performance fuel from BP,its BP ultimate 102@

Utterly pointless. You'd have to have your car remapped on that fuel to take advantage of it surely? Then you'd have to use it for ever.

I think the Scooby used to have a low-grade and high/performance grade map held in the ECU. The low grade one was for 95 RON fuel and the high grade one for 97 RON fuel. What most tuners did was tinker with the high/performance grade map and extend that out to whatever fuel you'd be using. I think the car always tried to use the high grade map (after an ECU reset), but if it detected a lot of knock, it would revert to the low-grade map so the car could safely run on normal unleaded.

No idea if it's the same on other cars :D

You could use it effectivly if you had Jabba's variable map/booost controller widget.

EH:confused:

I'd like to tr 3-4 tank fulls in the '2

Revo sps? or any other variable/switchable map too.

Thing is, just how much more performance would you get for the 2.5 times the normal price?

EH:confused:

You'd have the variable controller set (by Jabba) so when on its highest setting it was mapped for using the super-RON fuel. When you had to fill up with 95 RON you'd use the lowest setting, and for Optimax, somewhere in the middle.

Apparently one of the magazines done an article, where they sat in a BP somewhere all day and watched to see how many cars would use it. An old granny picked it up and the cashier guy got on the tannoy to let her know she was about to use £2.42 p/l fuel which she put down and picked up the right one. Also 2 seperate police cars filled up full tanks on fuel cards, nice to see they're spending our tax money wisely.

Pah, that's nothing...

I just spent £16 on 2.5 litres of 25% Nitro fuel for my Truck!
