Karoq 1.5 or 2.0 TSi ?

Gecko, thats great thanks.. as i said prior.. normally you get to try etc..

As fir kodiac, we don't need that much space or 7 seats etc.

Thanks again all.👍

We have both Kodiaq and Karoq. Upfront there's no difference, different story in the rear tho. Our Karoq has the picnic tables on the rear seats. At 5'10 I'd be comfortable enough but would have thought those tables may hinder legroom for taller passengers. So my advice would be if ur 6ft2 and want to travel in the rear of a Karoq, chose a model without seat mounted picnic tables.

As per above, the 2.0tsi only comes in Sportline form which means the rear seats are fixed. If you chose the 1.5tsi then you have the option of vario-flex seats depending on which model trim you buy.

Our 1.5 Karoq ( DSG )is mainly used for short journeys of no more than 5miles. It'll average around 39mpg over the year. On the few occasions I use it, it's over longer distances. With my Mr Economy head on it's around 50mpg in summer. I rarely drive it now but was out giving it a longer run yesterday ( charge up the battery! ). Never having been in the car for sometime, I found the road noise on 19" quite intrusive. Anything under 50mph and the engine is silent but found it too a little intrusive at faster speeds, something I don't find in the Kodiaq ( same engine, slightly different gearbox ). The 1.5 DSG will sit at 1800rpm at 70mph. I've no complaints about acceleration at higher speeds, I just have to remember to floor the accelerator in the DSG, which of course leads to lots of noise. Those 19" tyres were loud at motorway speeds - the Kodiaq has 20" rims but the cabin is so much quieter.

So in summary I'd say that if you tend to use the car gently or around town then a 1.5 would easily do the job but if you like to push the car a little or regularly use motorways then it's the 2.0tsi.

However,  if a 1.5tsi DSG Sportline costs £30700 list, and the 2.0tsi DSG Sportline costs...   Well I've just check the prices with DriveTheDeal and they aren't listing any 2.0tsi models for sale. Are we 100% sure the 2.0tsi is available to order?

PS - 4wd is better in poor conditions. Almost 40 years driving and never once have I though I wish I had 4wd. If I drove off-road or towed then it'd be a consideration but for typical everyday driving? Extra weight + extra expense = a big fat no. In my humble opinion of course. :)

@kenfowler3966 Good weight loss.   I was 19st when lockdown #1 started, lost 3 1/4st since then and 2st more to go.  Unfortunately the ice is all gone from round here so out running tomorrow. :crying:

Yes, I think I've read that VAG are reworking the 2.0TSI engine in all their cars so it's in short supply at present. Presumably trying to reduce emissions etc again. But it's a big seller throughout the group so as long as Skoda are given a quota it should be back again.

Tomm011... I bought from Barlows in Crewe back in July and got a good deal from them, I think. They happily matched a CarWow quote for a cash sale, but needed a lot of chasing to get information about the progress of my factory order. (In fact I ended up getting progress reports via DMs from Skoda UK's Twitter feed instead!) The covid handover was easy enough, although in hindsight I could have used more tuition on the assist systems even though I'd previously downloaded the owner's manual and driven VAG cars for 20+ years. I think the main problem was that they'd furloughed my Sales Exec, and the Sales Manager was firefighting like mad to keep the customers happy!

Unfortunately I have had to do it twice, lost near enough 10st to get down to target 13.5st in 2014, then 3 serious medical life threatening occurences, each of which result in eating too much whilst recovering, and I was back to 20st in Oct 2019. Since then managed to get back down to current 14st and still losing. Just use calorie counting each day, seems to work and my wife is doing it as well and lost 2st. When you realise how many calories in something you start yo avoid it. Indeed she bougth a mousakka ready meal last week thinking it is for 2, but it is a meal for one at 950 calories!!! That will stay in the freezer for some time I think.

We were at the end of 6 months travelling so I blame Aussie portion sizes.   It’s hard being on a diet in that country when one breakie would feed me for a couple of days at least.  :D  Also had to go on a virtually zero carb diet for a serious medical condition SWMBO developed in the summer which meant a radical change to our diet.  If I feel my weight isn’t shifting as it should I find a steak and salad in the evening followed by a 5km run the next morning gets it shifted.  Plus no vino for 6 months, though that has fallen by the wayside a little bit but no more than one bottle a week.

Haven’t been out running for 2 months due to snow and ice, it’s going to hurt!

Sorry running doesn't agree with me, but done a lot of walking in the last year!!

I started running again in my mid 50s having not run since my Forces days in my mid 20s.  Unfortunately I had a major motivation, getting fit to run 10k races in memory of my twin bruv.  Not saying I’ve gotten to the stage of liking running after over 1,000kms, and I know I ain’t going to enjoy tomorrow.

I can highly recommend Carwow.. fab deal and very very good px price. Also got the extra discount with pcp (which will be dealt with as soon as the ink dries) and 2 services for £79.
