  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

On quizzing my dealer wanting to know just how long other orders they have are actually taking.. No surprises to hear all iV taking an age, but specifically they said norm. iV coming through the system but nothing for VRS iV.

edit to add: They also said orders like mine (zero extras) are well ahead of orders loaded with options.

Looks like V shaped diagonal tyre tread patterns, did it come with all season tyres, and if so what type.

It's additional option, the last few winters was pretty mild, so i decided to try all season tyres. It's good year tyres, what series i cannot say because i don't remember :)

Do you mind sharing, why Arteon SB was such a bad idea?

Hi everyone,

Joining the waiting family 😎

Ordered: O4 Combi 1.0 TSi DSG "Clever" in Belgium:

Order date: beginning of june 2022

Initial delivery: 16/01/2023

1st update: 16/04/2023

2nd update: august 2023

3rd update: 27/11/2023

and counting

Hello, all! I have also ordered an Octavia vRS hatch 2.0 TSI. Was told that the order was officially registered on 14.02.2023 at the factory, but not yet scheduled for production. I was also told that they are facing a "strong automatic gearboxes crisis" by the local dealer in Romania, but who knows if is the only thing they are "fighting" now or what else they struggling with..

I heard also that rumor but they are producing 3500 -4000 Octavia's. They can't all be manuals.

Also there are delivered 15-20 cars each day in the Netherlands including dag cars

But I have asked the factory the reason for banking status, still pending an answer.

Yep, I also thought it was kind of strange.. anyway I'll get back when I get new info from the dealer. Anyhow, the initial estimate I was given was 45 to 55 weeks. I also put this info in the excel sheet for documentation. Another vRS 2.0 TSI was officially ordered 4 days before mine and already got scheduled for production about 2 weeks after that (sometime in June, if I remember correctly). Don't know yet if it was an error or they still stick with that date, because the dealer was also surprised with such quick scheduling when he first say it. I think the only thing left to do now is to wait :D It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll I guess.

Hi

I've ended my journey but thought the information below may be of use to some of you.

I ordered in Sept 22 the Vrs IV estate was given date of Oct 23 for estimated delivery, I came back off holiday a couple of weeks back and this date had changed to Jan.

Fast forward to last week, I get a courtesy call from the broker who is sorting out my car, they explain about the delayed delivery and now say after speaking to Skoda UK this date will realistically be closer to May/June 2024.

However a couple of days following this conversation I get an email from the broker with the following information -

We have received an update containing an apology from Skoda UK in relation to your order for a new Octavia, as Skoda remain unable to provide a clear and concise picture as to when your vehicle will be built.

Skoda UK are in regular contact with the factory regarding production challenges with Octavia IV as production is constantly moving with very few units being built due to ongoing supply semi-conductor and other component restrictions. At present, the manufacturer does not have any alternative models or specifications available any sooner than your ordered car.

Skoda have advised that you can keep your order live but there is no timeframe on when production will start.

Alternatively, please do look at our stock/arriving soon page and other vehicles available with a much shorter lead-time. Skoda have assured us they would not look to charge any cancellation fee should you decide to cancel.

I will be contacting you again over the coming days to assist you with these options and how you wish to proceed.

I understand that this is not the news that you will be expecting, for this we apologise; it is disappointing for us also, as our priority is always to ensure you receive delivery of your new car as quickly as possible, but rest assured we will do all that we can to assist you. Please do call me back at your earliest convenience so I can assist you further on ***********.

I was so really looking forward to getting this car but with no clear dates for build/delivery I've had no choice but to cancel, I now have a new Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV ordered and this will be with me early Sept

Been lurking here for a while, but the recent deliveries to some of the members here made curious as to how some people seem to get their cars within 8 months or even less, while others have been waiting for over a year. Is it random, or do they prioritise some countries over others? Does it depend on whether you're leasing or buying the car?

There are 2 main factors.

1) Specification and Options fitted.  Some parts are in limited supply as didn't secure enough capacity from suppliers factories.  The specs are also different in some countries, so if your country has a part as standard then more likely to be affected.

2) The quota system.   Every country and dealer has sales targets for each model, and quotas exist to spread allocation and stop individual dealers ordering lots of production, and thus blocking others.   Sales teams rarely tell you, but if they have reached their quota then your order probably won't be accepted by factory until they reach a month with open quota.

The other main factor is iV hybrid models (now withdrawn from sale) are months behind (seems to be nearer 18-24 months)

Leasing firms get their cars supplied through a dealer, and due to squeeze on production capacity, that dealer might only be getting say 2 cars a month, which isn't great if they took 15 lease orders.   There are also rumours (not confirmed) that trying to deliver highest spec with most options as these are most profitable cars, which obviously clashes with shortage of expensive option parts.   Leased cars are often for businesses so tend to be lower specifications

I ordered my Octavia 1.5 SEL Etec DSG on 6th September 2022 and picked it up on Monday, they quoted 37 weeks+ but it came in 29 weeks.

Ya I was wondering the same if some countries were prioritized over others. We ordered two at home. One took 4/5 months (delivered Jan 22), the other 8 months (delivered Sept 22).

All ours were bought, not leased.

Ordered Octavia SEL IV Estate October 2022 and have been quoted build week 16 in 2024.  Am concerned about the finished quality and reliability if the factory is scratching around for parts from wherever they can be located, and if the assembly workers are constantly switching from what can be built with theses bits to what can be built with those!

Personally I wouldn't be to worried about quality and reliability. Skoda (VAG in general) have pretty exacting standards, I doubt they'll be cobbling cars together with any old bits and pieces, or leaving some cars incomplete etc. I'd like to think that in a more organised fashion they might alter what equipment is assigned to a particular model variant based on component supply, but that spec should then be applied to all builds in that variant. This has been the case with many manufacturers since the start of the great silicone chip famine couple of years ago.

Where to start ,

The novelty factor of all the driving aids very quickly wares off , incorrect speed limit identification while on a motorway was the worst failure it made , car decided to go from 70mph to 30 , constant reminders to take control of the steering wheel despite having a good grip on it , Dsg doesn't work with the 150 bhp motor very well , constantly in wrong gear , holding gear , wouldnt kick down/up . Basically I think just an overload of automation and electronics for a very analogue driver (I do feel the driving aids been constantly on have soured me towards the arteon), the feel of the vrs just blows the vw out of the water , and with no driving aid options picked , I hope to enjoy the mk4 as much as I did my old mk3 .

Best thing about the arteon sb is its looks in my opinion especially in R line trim , but poor driving aid development ruins what should be a comfy cruiser but instead turned into quite an irritating car to drive on short or long drives

My car has been built. Octavia SEL PHEV  some extras ordered Feb 22. Original delivery estimate Aug 22. I wrote and started complaining to Skoda uk and corporate Dec 22. I suspect this may have helped bring my delivery date forward from Aug 23.  Even then the build drifted from week 11 back to week 16. Case of squeaky wheel gets the oil. I should get it in a month they say. I hope all those others waiting get their cars soon.

@ThomasvrsdsgtdiCould you be clear on what you have, is it a Mk4 vRS iV so a 1.5 TSI PHEV?

It is a mk4 iv  plug in hybrid SEL trim with the 1.4 engine. The current mild hybrids are 1.5 although I understand after the next styling update the PHEV will come with a 1.5

Cheers, typo / brain drain putting 1.5 there.

So something here going on as to what mode it is in if not benefiting from some electric assistance.  Stuff pushing the accelerator with a vRS and not even getting some decent acceleration, go go.

Just show and slow go.

So I’ve been reading this forum for about a year now and I wanted to share my experience. I live in Lithuania and I ordered Octavia 1.5 mHEV with bunch of extras back in October 2021. Still no confirmed build date, just unconfirmed build date week 21 (but does it mean anything as it gets postponed every month?) On top of that communication from dealership is almost non-existent  :D  Just hoping my car will get built out of nowhere :D

Back in June 2022 I considered purchasing Superb mk3 280, Arteon R or Kia Stinger. As the Stinger was only RWD, I focused on Arteon and Superb. After some time, I have decided to go with Superb because was about £7k cheaper and most imporatntly everything could be controlled with buttons, no stupid touch bars, to change temperature, etc. Long story short, I collected my Superb L&K 280 in March 2023. I have put 1200 miles so far, and believe it or not, I am very disapointed with this car. DSG is probably the biggest disaster as it is lazy, laggy, slow and stupid. If driving in Normal mode, getting to the roundabout/junction, unless I completly stop the car and give it 2-3 seconds, the car will set of with 2nd gear engaged, no need to tell you how much strain you put on clutches. Second annoyance is how quickly the gears are shifted to 5/6. If you are going around a big roundabout and you get to 25-30mph you will see 5th if not 6th gear engaged. Why is it annoying - imagine driving on a road with speed limit of 70mph. And here is the roundabout, so you slow down, go around and you want to accelerate to 70mph but your car is already in 6th gear at ~35mph, and if you push the accelerator down, nothing happenes, so you press it even further, and nothing happenes, and you press harder and all of the sudden car goes like crazy... The only solution to this is to drive it always in Sport mode. I won't mention stupid Start/Stop because I always switch it off. And when it comes to predictive ACC, I simply switched it off because the car will read ANY sign in its sight, and if you are on a motorway doing 70mph but on the slip road there is 20mph speed limit, the car will hang you in your seatbelts and another driver will make a garage of your back. I would imagine that Octavia mk4 is no less annoying.

Back in 2012 I purchased brand new Superb mk2, and was very happy with it. As a result I got another Superb but I start to hating it. I do not wan to put any boxes, or devices that are suppose to "improve" ride quality for number of reasons. Sadly this experience aligns with what I read on forums. The only thing that is not as bad as I read on forums is DCC, which for the time being is OK.

And thus the question about you hating Arteon as after owing the Superb I cannot explain how happy I am that I saved £7k and did not go with Arteon. And still I am extremly upset that Stinger was not available with 4x4 but if someone does not mind 370hp on rear wheels only, I'd stay clear from VAGs and got this Kia.

I have moaned at Skodo UK and CZ and all they replied was contact the dealer for updates on production - and the dealer says 'I haven't a clue try contacting Skoda UK' so its a merry-go-round
