Help with front brakes

Featured Replies

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with finding the right front brakes for a friend's car.

The car is registered in Belgium where the number plate can't be used to identify the car. I've tried putting the VIN into a the parts catalogs that I know and they come back saying that it is unrecognised, even though I've pulled it directly from the PR sticker. The sticker doesn't list the PR code for the front brakes. I don't have access to the car right now so I can't measure the discs directly, so I'm at a bit of a loss!

The car is a 2010 1.2 TDI 75hp. Is anyone able to run the VIN to find out which front brake discs and pads I need to get for the front?

The car will have 256mm front discs.

Thank you!

If you download a brakebook from "textar brale technology " you will find the discs and brakes for the model you require, i had a mk2 1.9 tdi and dealers kept telling me i had Teves brake pads with 256mm discs but in fact there were 292mm discs and lucas pads which this brake book suggested for the model and year, give it a try you can gleem some info from here and you don't have to use textar parts but they were the only retailer to supply the coated discs like vw parts and pads were very good quality also
