Sasha’s Superb SportLine Plus

Marshalls have a DG Estate for £26,000 which is more than you want to pay but it is the 190 diesel and has reversing camera and virtual dash I think if the Winsford deal falls through.

New car round 2!! Finance accepted and deposit paid on this one from Marshall’s. I am much happier with the incredibly thorough service from Marshall’s, have been through all the history, had a video

Well that was total waste of time. Arrived this morning to collect the car to be greeted with a Dragon Green turd, shocking repairs on both bumpers, cheap worn out tyres and only one key. FoW were in

Many of you have reached out to me wondering if there is an update and I’m relieved to say that there finally is. Dealing with Fords of Winsford has been like pulling teeth and whatever happens with t

That’s one on the list as well as the Meteor one they have at the other site and I’ve got an E Class and a 5 Series on the list too. If they’d have got the basics right I would have been the easiest buyer ever as I’ll be taking the car to Skoda for another fluid change as soon as I can for the digital stamp and to ensure I’m safeguarded as I don’t trust them to have done it but I’m just so frustrated by the whole thing at this point. Hopefully I’ll feel differently about it tomorrow when I’ve slept and had time to calm down.

I nearly bought it myself because I like DG that much. :D

Awww crap I didn’t realise you weren’t buying from a Skoda dealer this time.

Hope you either can get them to play ball and deliver on what’s been agreed or find another one.

I did notice there was a dragon green 280 on the Skoda search the other day but it was silly money so probably not in your budget.

Keep us updated....

That one has been for sale for nearly a year as it was offered unregistered and it started off at £44,000 and it’s now about £34,000. As nice as it is it’s still too much money and I hear from folk who have enquired about it that the supplying dealer don’t seem interested in selling it as the sales manager seems to like it for himself.

I want fazed by it being from a car supermarket, traditionally most of my cars have come from such establishments and part of the reason for that is not having to wait. Maybe I’m too impatient but it’s not even the wait time that has riled me, the combination of circumstances has led to my annoyance but it’ll all be over soon now I have a firm date in the diary to see the car in person.

Good luck! I wish you all the best to get the car you had booked!

If the Merc is 4wd check it very carefully. To the best of my knowledge they still can’t fix the crabbing and scrubbing issue at low speed. Wears tyres and just feels horrible. My last one was corroding before it was out of warranty and until I binned it, bits just liked to randomly fall off on a weekly basis. Think I sank about 10k into it in the five years after warranty, and when I sold it, it needed a front diff and torque converter. Great driving thing, and mega comfortable, but just Grimm when front shocks were £3600 a pair and stealing rack was £2400 etc. A lot of bits are also dealer only. Hope you get sorted with the DG one your chasing. Really no need for Dealers to behave in that sort of manner.

Thanks for the info, it’s a RWD one so a bit less drama there. I did like my previous MB but it did do all the Mercedes things well, like break down 😂

That 26k one looks pretty good if it’s in your budget and the original one isn’t as expected plus it’s already got vc, the boot pedal and the camera fitted with only 6k miles!

@SashaGrace - just being nosy here, but did I understand rightly that you were having issues with getting your lovely Dragon Green Superb?  FYI - I had a look at this:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202012317523255?onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&body-type=Estate&fuel-type=Diesel&radius=1501&postcode=td145js&drivetrain=Four Wheel Drive&sort=relevance&make=SKODA&advertising-location=at_cars&model=SUPERB&transmission=Automatic&include-delivery-option=on&page=1&modal=photos

It is a 2020 4x4 L&K with most of the bells/whisles on it - maybe not, but wanted to add it into the mix.

They had it advertised it for £28k last week.

I am but it’s hopefully sorted and I have other cars in the queue. I’ve seen that L&K but I’m not a fan of white cars unfortunately. I’d like to stick to the £20k budget as well if at all possible :)

Another one to consider been reduced from £30,000 to £26,780 at Marshall's Nottingham Race Blue Sportline Plus hatch with Vega alloys and Virtual Dash with delivery miles (just 7 on the photo) and 190 diesel plus DSG which makes it a cracking buy plus spare wheel I think.

That silver L&K is a bit overpriced IMO, a lot of them are compared to how they were at the end of last year. I’m not ready for an L&K, spec is awesome but the SportLine look is the one for me. My budget is a strict £350 a month with no deposit on a 4 year PCP so it probably won’t stretch to a £26k car.

Well that was total waste of time. Arrived this morning to collect the car to be greeted with a Dragon Green turd, shocking repairs on both bumpers, cheap worn out tyres and only one key. FoW were in no way interesting in sorting out more keys so I have left without it. I’m absolutely livid!

Cheap is not always the best option unfortunately.

It wasn’t even cheap though! It was a good price but not too good so that makes it worse. If they’d have been amenable to a discount we could have done something as DG is such a rare colour but they weren’t so I didn’t even take the keys, once I asked him if it had all 3 and he said it only had 1, I just walked.

My last 2 Superbs both came with 3 keys and it makes you wonder what type of owner loses 2 keys?

I always find this most odd.  My GTI had 24 miles on the clock when I bought it, and there was only one key. I was walking away as you've done, but went back for a chat and a second key was arranged as part of the deal.

Good luck with your car hunting.  May you have better success.

Gaz

Unfortunately far too common nowadays

Some buyers are no better though... 'sold' my wife's Nissan Leaf (for a bargain price) the car as expected is mint, Gtecniq ceramic coated, loads of options etc.
Buyer backed out then bought a higher mileage, base spec car in the same colour which when it arrived it had damage to two doors! and he paid more for it!!

The right car will be out there for you Sasha,

you mentioned a f/l, wouldn't that be a much better base to start with? (LED lights etc)

3?

I thought they only came with 2 now (if full KESSY)

They should all come with 3 keys even now. I would prefer an FL but they are just out of the budget a bit but I’ll be calling about a few later and some non Skoda’s when I’m home and calmed down.

No my 2019 Sportline Plus and current FL 2020 SEL both have KESSY and the Personalisation welcome feature so when I press the start button on my diesel it says "Welcome Slow Shy".:tongueout: My car was only £22,800 with 6,253 miles from my local Skoda dealer despite having a £33,000 new price. Pay 60 months at £447 per month Sasha on HP.

Ah yes I seem to remember you needed to add this personalised option for the 3rd key, this wasn't an option when I bought mine, I only use the 2nd key for servicing and airport parking anyway.

Sasha just bear in mind some will only have 2 keys, either way VCDS should still be able to check the amount of keys coded to the car.

All SportLine Plus spec cars come with personalisation so should have 3 if my info is correct, only the pre 2017 cars have 2. In any case this car only had one which is simply unacceptable. I’m having a cup of tea to calm down now and then I have some phone calls to make.
