Headlight washer Jet replacement

Featured Replies

I have been struggling with this for the last few days, I am trying to replace the headlight washer jett (1Z0955979A),

The arm has snapped so i need to replace the whole thing.

I can't find any forum posts on how to actually remove the jets i gave it a go the other day but couldn't for the life of me figure it out.

I have a feeling i need to drop the bumper, the only info I did find said to pull out the nozzle and undo a clip but i need to take the whole assemberly out to replace the part that's cracked.

I don't even need them with only halogens installed but I'm refilling my washer fluid every other day as it's just leaking out when it tries to wash the headlights.

I'm not even sure that part number is correct for my Octavia mk2 Elegance 2009 as the new part looks slightly different but thats another issue

At a guess removing the relevant headlight unit/fog light and or engine under cover should allow access.

I'd certainly consider dropping of the front bumper, if only to gain access with your fingers.

One of mine had lost its' outside plate and was being hit with all the road-muck. I'd sourced a new "front plate" but hadn't gotten around to fitting it, when the car ended up in a bush avoiding a (drunk?) driver losing control in a narrow lane... so my bumper needed a 'reseat' to get the line back (far better than the chromed steel nudgers I grew up with) I love the way modern stuff absorbs those slow speed impacts.

Anyway, once the bumper was dropped off, working on the headlight washer was a breeze 🙂
