Plenty seats but no space for stuff if occupied.

Range with all seats occupied will be interesting to know when it is cold / snowy and the heating working and the windows not steaming, that will not be if in ECO.

Best without the Michelin Primacy 4 tyres fitted.

The battery needs to be at least 10kW bigger because really with people in and colder weather you will not get 100 miles if the battery was at 100% and you ran it as low as to 5%.

so 50 kw but 45 kWh usable x 2.5 miles per kWh if really trying.  40 x 2.5 = 100.

Maybe all the size of van that some need.

The thing is with the LWB vans, there is loads of space for a good sized battery pack and even with the SWB I'm kind of surprised they couldn't fit say an 75-100kWh usable in there.

I do think for things like lorries and longer distance vans rather than just round town last mile services you're going to have to look at hydrogen powered FCEV or something other than carrying around a couple of tonnes of battery.

I suppose they could put a massive battery in the trailer that is charged whilst it's waiting and a cab with a smaller battery just picks up and drops off... but still you're towing tonnes of battery.

They do fit bigger batteries in some SWB vans.

Like a choice of 50 or 75 kWh from Vauxhall.

Miles quoted are going to be lovely warm weather rather obviously, and the difference from 20*oC to 0*oc might not be 20% less, it will be 50% less around town and maybe only 30% on runs.

Then those that drive car derived light commercial vans now fueled by petrol or diesel working in Low Emission Zones might well just need a replacement that is not an ICE and that can be run at 1/2 the cost of the ICE vehicle.

@4 minutes 50 seconds, that is a lot of open ended spaces for mud / h20 / salt getting into.

Are they designed to just be rust buckets from new?

It’s a Ford, their EV are so far behind it’s embarrassing. Not at all surprised it is a bolted on battery pack and zero protection. Just 60 odd kWh with brick of a vehicle. It’ll be same as their Focus EV, blame on no demand when it’s a failure.

It must be a Pre-Production model.

68kWh battery, USABLE.  x 2.5 miles = 170 miles.

WLTP says up to 196 miles from 100% battery.

We will see hopefully when someone loads it and drives it on a colder / windy day.

They might have to do lots of apologies for being a bit late.

The issue really is carrying more than 5 people and luggage, maybe sports / leisure equipment in an EV & travelling some distance maybe in inclement weather with them comfortable the car not getting steamed up and damp and them having to endure a few charging sessions, maybe even at locations were there are no toilets or other facilities.

250 miles in colder or damp weather with a driver and passengers and stuff will be amazing.

Maybe even just 5 golfers and there sets of clubs.

With the Merc.

250 miles, 66 kWh battery, so near 3.8 miles per kWh loaded.  In their dreams.

All that many businesses or trades need in the way of an EV van for local deliveries or transport if not just using an estate car.

Brilliant little EV for local delivery. Need more of those, as said, 60 miles is a lot in city centre, I never felt the need to worry about range driving my Leaf into the city.

But I don't think cars belong in the city, Dutch has electric cargo bikes and they do very well.

Aberdeen & Dundee & even Edinburgh are pretty perfect for e-Cargo bikes (weather can be an issue) as the road networks are an issue and the LEZ,s are coming in.

There are many in Glasgow that need to get them now since the LEZ came in yesterday and they are saying they can not do their deliveries or work.

They should be at a Park & Ride location ready for trades people to park their van and get their toolkit and stuff transferred into and off into the city centre.

For many it should be Bipper / Kangoo EV vans sitting in those Low Emission Hubs ready for hire by the hour or day etc.

'Arnold Clark' could have their EV vans or Estate cars available to hire.  'Simply clever'.    Some are just not that savvy.

A Scenic was quite good for passenger space a luggage.

This should have been a very good light goods carrier, that being it is a MPV. / Multi Purpose Vehicle,

or carry More people vehicle in comparison to less people carriers. aka cars with 5 seats and no luggage space for 5.

87 kW usable battery,

if he is not getting 4 miles a kWh then really is it 4 x 87, 348 miles, full to empty,

or maybe 3.6 miles a kWh average, UK average year temps, 313 miles. If a tail wind, and the luck of the gods.
