Vibrating Parcel Shelf

Featured Replies

Hi Briskodians. Just wondering if any of you guys has got an idea on how to cure my vibrating parcel shelf?. D M Keith say's it vibrates because I've got leather seats and it is rubbing on them?. Anybody else had this problem?. Cheers

Might be worth checking the uderside of the rear parcel shelf (the bit that lifts up).

It should have a small square rubber buffer on each side that the shelf rests on. One of mine kept falling out regularly allowing the shelf to vibrate when passing over a rough surface.

Glued it back in with some adhesive, been OK since. They are very small so easily go unnoticed when they fall out but the 2-3mm gap left is just enough to allow the shellf to flop up and down.

Could be something els but worth a few seconds to check.

Is it definately the parcel shelf? On my 55 plate Vrs I got a terrible vibration at certain revs but found it to be a plastic trim on the rear hatch. It's at the bottom the window glass, almost touches the parcel shelf when it's closed. I cured it by wedging in a couple of small pieces of rubber between the plastic and the window glass.

Nothing to do with leather seats.:( ......Mine vibrates and I've no leather.:( ..Just the dealer fobbing you off.....Typical...some just can't be bothered..

Cheers guys. Where are the small rubbery things on the parcel shelf located?. It seems to vibrate going upto 2000 rpm. Bit annoying really but the rest of the car makes up for it

Rubber pads are on the underside of the parcel shelf at each outer edge.
