After some deliberation, decided to colour code the grille today.

What do you think ? :)

Aaaaggghhhhh!!!!!

   A big 'thumbs up' from me. I think it makes the grille look more classy.

Damn, I'm going have to think of some other colour/finish on mine now. I want to be the first to try something new, and have a spare grill and surround here waiting.

I like it though. I might opt for glossy black.

By the way - have you done the inside edges of the slats? Might be a trick of the camera but half the grills look done on the insides, the other half furthest away don't.

Thats because the slats on the other side are facing the other way.

Personally I would have just coded the chrome bit but each to his own :)

Aha - well, I have a blank canvas to do with what I wish. And a spare chromey bit as well, both new.

Watch you dont get paint on your monitor Jason!!

Hmm - might try that myself ;):D:rofl:

Its a bit too much for me personally. IF I were to do something like this I'd just paint the chrome as many have said before.

Good effort.

I think it looks great on a silver car - three points though:

1. You've missed the end of the bonnet release.

2. I don't think it would work as well on a black car like mine.

3. Picture 4/13 is an interesting aside...

It's a Mark1.5 car - Skoda changed the design to have angled slats - I don't know why.

To be honest Chris, I was going to -

1) Spray the brace green

2) Yes, do the headlights

3) Carbanuba wax the car

But, the stiches are driving me mad

So I ended up just doing the grille, wanted to do it for ages and I know it's not to everyones taste but hey, that's why were all different. (some moreso than others)

Dont know what you mean!!

I like it well done. I really want to colour code the one on my black vrs, after dseeing a black octy with it done I know it will look awesome.

my car doesnt have those things under the headlights (where the whashers go)

when did they stop putting them there if you didnt have washers ?

or are they washers on that car ?

All cars with Xenons are fitted with headlamp wash.

robbo51, just noticed that under your name you have SchwarzZauberei, just wondered why? Sorry if I'm being nosey:thumbup:

Its German for 'Black Magic'

Stu kindly sorted out a paintjob on the chrome surround I bought somewhere local to him, whilst my strut brace & rear ARB were painted (BM for strut & grille surround, matt black for rear ARB). Not cheap but I reckon it looks great.

Definitely needs the Skoda badge though to bring it 'up again'. I reckon it depends on the colour of your car if it looks good though, I think the Silver ones look good with Chrome in the right places, and IIRC there was a red one here that had chromed door handles etc which looked great too :)

Sorry just intrigued me:thumbup:

Looks good mate really suits a silver car well done:thumbup:

Mine is at the painters now - not cheap as WW says, £25. But then I suppose that is a professional job but add to that around £40 for a spare grille surround and another £12 for a Skoda badge and it mounts up.
