Front electric windows

Featured Replies

Both windows stopped working same time if its not fuse and not window switches whats left to check ?if driverside has fault I take it it stops passenger window also?

Probably the electric motor/control unit (integral) which also controls passenger window. I'm finding this part on vehicles after Oct 2005 impossible to find. Anywhere.

Welcome to the (my windows dont work) club.

Try disconnecting the battery for 1-2 hours.

Check battery voltage

Check alternator is working

Check wiring in door shut

Test the motor its self using 12v source

Check window switch connector

Check motor connectors

Check for broken wires/corrosion

Hold key in unlock position in drivers door

It's the comfort module, believe it's tucked up above the pedals under dash somewhere, sorry can't be more specific.

A proper 8Y2959802 job came up for £120 recently so I thought what the hell, nearly Summer, might want windows to work (it's only been 4-5 months! Manufactured 2005 though so 2 years older than faulty one. Fingers crossed.

All I needed to do was hold the key in unlock position and lock position to get the one-touch thing to work in driver's door. Loom at door hinge looked ok, fuses were ok so I just assumed it was the motor unit.
