Servicing

Featured Replies

I now there is a load of stuff on here about this, but it is easier to just ask.

My05 octy has done 17k and now the car tells me that in a thousand miles it needs a service is this correct. I personnally thought that the intervals were greater. thanks

Anywhere from 9500 to 20000 so its about right.

You have an 05 Octavia 1.8T vRS? On variable servicing the service intervals can be anywhere between a minimum of 15,000 km and a maximum of 30,000 km, ie 9320 and 18641 miles depending on hnow you drive the car. You are doing well to achieve circa 18,000 miles.

Beaten again... :(

;)

Just shows you have something better to do with your Sunday..lol

Are you saying that the car works out when it needs a service depending on how you are driving the car?

Yes - assuming you are on variable servicing. The front of the handbook should confirm whether this is the case IIRC

I take it it is not a big service and won't cost the earth?

Are you saying that the car works out when it needs a service depending on how you are driving the car?
To quote the Service Schedule: The particular feature of this system - ie the Variable Service Interval Display - is that service intervals are calculated on the basis of your individual driving conditions and your own personal style of driving.

well I have just been stung by some rather expensive skoda servicing (IMHO) Must be how they make their money, sell the cars cheaper than others in the VAG group, and then bump up the service prices! I had assumed that due to the great ratings on the customer satisfaction surveys that servicing was ok. Ah well, you live and learn!
