Uncommanded activation of Siri

Featured Replies

I've had a bunch of issues with my car (described elsewhere) but this is more of a weird one.

A couple of times now, I've had a fault where Siri will activate every time I turn the wheel to the right. Left has no effect and holding the voice control button activates Siri as normal but every time I turn the wheel to the right, Siri starts and expects me to say something. The fault usually resets whenever I leave the car and start the car again. While it's happening, it can be quite distracting, especially when driving in traffic in town (i.e. roundabouts etc.)

Anybody else experienced this or is this just another feature of my car?

With Laura..

Random “how can I help for you” all the time, like..

Last night I was making out with someone, Laura intervened of course.

I was: “Laura, self destruct”

She was: “I can only find night clubs within xxx km’s...”

OK 😅

I've deactivated Laura. Fox's issue sounds a little more serious.

Yeah, I've deactivated Laura but have Apple Carplay going pretty much all the time. A dhort press of the button on the wheel will activate Laura when I want it but if you press and hold the voice assist button then it will activate Siri.

Thanks for that - I was wondering how to get Siri working...

How do you deactivate Laura???

Mine is so annoying, seems to activate randomly for no reason.

I'd still like the steering wheel button to activate Google though when using Android Auto.

For the Columbus it’s in Menu —> Settings —> Voice Control. You can Enable/Disable the use of the Activation Word.

Not tried it myself though...

This will be the highlight of my day if this works!! One less annoyance in the car.

Result!

Thanks for that. And it just happens to be one of the most obvious settings!

Brilliant! Thanks for letting me know.

I’ll join you in a celebratory pint...  🍺
