Fabia vrs se leaking rear door seals

Featured Replies

Has anyone local to South yorkshire managed to get th rear leaking door seals successfully repaired.

I rang one garage he said they had never heard of the problem but would sort it for £200.

I then went to hayseldens body shop direct (our local Skoda repairer)

Who said it's not the seals it's the speakers that water leaks through and it's both front and back that need sorting,

£450.

Googling the fault and on here it defo says it's the seals in the doors.

Can Anyone recommend anywhere that's done theirs ideally barnsley/doncaster/Rotherham area

Don't pay those outrageous (i saw you coming so...) Prices. Just some good quality silicon sealant from b&q will do the job.

Take off the door card and apply it over the original foam seal. Plenty of YouTube tutorials.

It is usually the rear seals that leak ...... but I do have evidence of water leaking from my drivers door speaker...... but £200 is stupid money!

An hours labour and maybe a fiver for some silicone if you get a garage to do it, but it’s easy ;)

Surely your door drain is blocked and the door is filling up with water, have you checked it's clear?

I used outdoor gutter sealant £12 and 2 hours work and all 4 doors resealed no leaks since.

I have checked and they’re not blocked.

Are the door cards easy to pop off, do you need a special tool ?

Not hard at all. Iirc ... 3 torx screws at the bottom of the door card, three large Phillips screws behind the arm rest and one torx behind the interior door handle.

I’ve gotta move my car in a minute and will amend the above of it isn’t correct.

My sister's fabia had this issue years back. The official Skoda kix was to reseal the rear doors. I was at a Skoda dealer at the time.

I ended up doing it myself though, it was easy. The door cards come off easily and just reseal. You could seal round the speakers too.
