Multi Function Display vRS

Featured Replies

Reading in the handbook - some Fabia derivatives have a display in the centre where you can see stats such as service intervals etc. On my vRS I can change the data presented on the small LCD display below the rev counter - but there is no multi function display? Is this the case - or am I being thick. The LCD display is a bit confusing - even though it's similar to my old Golf. Need to get to grips with it.

Also majorly having to change my driving style from the high reving petrol GTi. The fabia is definately more of a plodder in high gears - just using the torque.

Cheers, D

You're right. The "Maxidot" display is only available on Fabia's fitted with sat nav if I remember correctly :D

Cool :-( thanks Chris.

The dealer said it is variable servicing on the vRS - is there a way to check this on the vRS? Does it give you a warning when the service is due?

Dealer said the first service is about 20k - which sounds high?

Cheers, D

AFAIK, the vRS is only available on fixed servicing (as it's missing some of the variable servicing sensors) so it should be set for fixed 10k/1 year intervals and the service indicator should pop up 1000 miles/1 month before it is due :D

If it doesn't pop up, it may be because the dealer didn't enable it, or it's running in km, but that can be easily rectified I think.... :D

Your dealer is lying! There is no variable servicing on the vRS!! Oil change every 10k miles and inspection every 12 months. iirc.

Cool, thanks guys - could be a costly mistake! the sales people really need to know the tech stuff!

Cheers, D

It's not only a costly mistake, it's a royal PITB ;)

I do 40k a year roughly so variable servicing would make MUCH more sense to me than these 10k oil changes in reality. That said I've managed to find time to 'hit the dealers' 3 times so far, 4th one should be soon ;)

Ouch, I do 25k - and that's too much IMHO.
