I got a phone call on Monday just to let me know there's no update on my car. However I did only order on the 14th October, so just under 4 weeks ago. The order still hasn't been accepted by Skoda but they said as soon as it does, they'll let me know the build week for next year. We're not in a rush for the car just hoping it arrives before our other little arrival at the end of March/beginning of April.

  • Got some good news this morning car is fully built and heading to the port in Germany. So that was scheduled week 33 for built so its been 10 days or so longer than exepected for the build. 👍

  • I spoke to my dealer today. Apparently my car was built as planned last week (yay!) and it left the factory this Monday.   So if all goes well in transit it should be here in about a month. 

  • I collect my 60 iv December 1st, I'm exited, anyone got a 3 pin cable they want to flog cheap? as I'm without a home charger until January 26 next year🥴

From what I've seen build weeks are only assigned a month or maybe two head of where they are currently producing, so you wont get one until it is only a month or two out from build. It took me a month to get a build week and that was back in July before it went completely crackers. 

I ordered in the middle of September. This week I have been given a delivery date of late January 2022.

Car ordered in May, told today it had arrived in the UK and was waiting for transport to the dealer. Things are looking up!

Got an email from the dealer today, its built and currently in Emden awaiting transport to the Port of Tyne 

I collect my 60 iv December 1st, I'm exited, anyone got a 3 pin cable they want to flog cheap? as I'm without a home charger until January 26 next year🥴

I got a masterplug one from Screwfix for £150, didn't need it but got it just in case. 

I was considering getting one of those cables from Screwfix chopper85, I could use it round the daughters (30 miles away) but the charge cost would be extortionate for sure😜

 

But seriously how does it perform? is the plug getting to hot, is it better and safer on the ring main, can't the car draw a lower charge to protect things ?

Our Sportline 80x ordered on 26 August is apparently being built as I type. Dealer won't commit (which I understand) to a delivery date, but at least we know things are still being put together.

 

(for the curious - options are heat pump, parking pack +, drive sport pack, assisted drive pack, metallic paint (grey), sunroof, tow bar, convenience pack. Dealer agreed to wire in dashcam wires from the fusebox, then replace trim etc foc as we've had so many cars from them, which was nice).

I couldn't tell you as my Enyaq hasn't arrived yet. 🤦🏻 Masterplug are a big company so I don't expect it to be a bad product and I am sure the cost is still less than filling up at the pump, if not just find a local charger for the time being.

Screwfix are fully out of materplugs choppers.  I hope they restock soon, as alternatives are 200ish. I bet this will get moved to a charge specific thread.

Had a call from the dealership today, I will be picking my car up sometime this week.  😁

Ordered a 60 loft model in Black on the 2nd July through a lease company for work. Delivery date was late November, I would love to know if anyone's managed to work out how to deactivate lane assist so it doesn't turn on every time you get back in the car!

Two things I would love to deactivate but cannot. FIrst, as you say is Lane Assist. Works great on the motorway, but on narrow B-roads, it 'bounces' from left to right in the narrow lane. You need at least 3 button presses to turn it off on every journey.

Other is the anti-hijack central locking that locks as soon as you drive off. As I don't live in South Africa or Mexico, I don't need it and this is the first car on which I cannot turn it off!

Still love the Enyaq though.

My car arrived in the UK on the 15th of December, cleared all customs and checks where completed by 15th when I went to sign all relevant documents at the dealership.
I was told the car will be with me by Christmas. Christmas came and the dealer then said it will be with you between Christmas and New Year. Now the dealer is telling me i will be sometime in January. Something to do with Skoda not releasing it to them. 🤷🏻‍♂️
 

So I have got the home charger, granny charger, rubber mats, boot liner, cill protectors, bumper protectors and all the other mods and accessories you can get under the sun but no car 😂 (wife thinks I’m building this car)

Has the car been First Registered yet?

 

I wonder if you are caught up in the VW Group numbers game.  

Average Co2 emissions, and they have achieved what they required for 2021 and will not be fined so now they want 2022 to start with the lowest emission and no emission vehicles being first registered.  

 

Last year they missed the required figures.

So I have got the home charger, granny charger, rubber mats, boot liner, cill protectors, bumper protectors and all the other mods and accessories you can get under the sun but no car 😂 (wife thinks I’m building this car)

Did you buy the accessories from the dealer? Got mine from dealer and they were all fitted apart from mud flaps which I bought cheaper online. Biggest rip off is granny charger, it would take so long to charge its not worth it. Shame they dont do a rear bumper protector as a plastic film as they do for the cills. Bought one from ebay but it just would not stick down.

3 pin socket chargers are invaluable if away places, visiting / holidaying and no handy chargers near.

That need not only be in rural areas.

10 hours parked up and the battery can be getting some charge. 

25 kWh maybe at 20 pence a kW so £5. 

Car interior pre heated / windows de-iced before setting off and the energy is from the national grid.

Not that I am aware. Not getting much information from the dealership at the moment apparently they have 15 cars to get out before the end of the year (today)

No I bought all the manufactures parts from a Skoda specialist in Czech, I can fit them all myself. I got the gloss black bumper protectors but looking at it it’s not as robust as some cheaper 3rd part bumper protectors. see post here -

The 10m granny charger was from Screwfix on offer and with a 10% discount code, so I picked that up for about £140. I only bought if for just in case as the price was low, I can use it on most of the sites I visit as they don’t have proper chargers, at least getting some top up while I am doing my work.

I’m a M&E surveyor so I visit multiple commercial properties per week, if I am on site for 8 hours and have access to a 3 pin socket, which most of the time I can, it will pay for itself, I am using the clients electricity (which I have asked if I can use)  and my car is ready for me to come home when I have finished on site. 

^^^^ exactly.  Handy for those that even think they might never use them.   They can help others who might need to charge and are having issues with DC charging.  It might even be themselve. No point left at home though.    Like having a towbar you might never think will be used until you do need to.  Or a spare wheel.

Totally agree and thing they are quite missunderstood by non EV owners. Lots of professional EV reviewers say stuff like 'forget granny chargers as they take over 20 hours'. But in practice this is not the case.

Especially with the iV 60 which is more efficient than the iV 80 due to lower weight and less powerful motor (and is quicker to 80% on AC due to smaller battery), I use granny leads 3 times a week for 8 hours at work. Never need to charge at home or anywhere else.

As I live rural, they this is the only real option anyway.

As you say, using them also allows pre-heat without use of the battery.

if those 15 cars going out before the year end are all ice, then maybe roottoot is correct about vag already having met  there co2 targets for the year.

think i'd have been digging a bit deeper  😁

seems a bit strange that they want to hold back your car for a month or so, 

if it's not emissions related, the suspicious side of me is thinking, i wonder if the cars got damaged in transit and they need time to repair  😒
